1825 Gallery Hotel

Ground floor very smelly, not recommend to stay this hotel, smell like from underground drain.

only problem is parking, if u dun drive, the place is still consider not bad, not as central, but there r still alot of choices of food beside the place.

I loved the location ,and the hotel gives you that sense of luxury without the feel of a large city hotel.Reception Staff at reception was nice enough but somewhat distant to attention in customer service. When I booked I was under the impression i would get a river view instead my room was the back of a building, It was immediately dismissed without explanation by asking an extra charge if I wanted to change.Overall very nice place and would comeback again.

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations due to the condition of the room. Upon entering, there was a noticeable musty, mould-like smell. The air in the room felt stagnant, and although we had paid extra for a room with a window, the main window was non-functional. There was a small top window that could be opened, but it faced the wall of the neighbouring building and overlooked a narrow gutter, so it did little to improve ventilation or help with the smell. We ended up spraying perfume throughout our stay to make the room more bearable. We also noticed that the air-conditioning emitted an unpleasant odour, which we believed contributed to the smell, together with the visible mould on parts of the wall. The room itself showed signs of wear. The carpet appeared dirty, and several pieces of furniture were in poor condition. In the bathroom, the bidet spray was missing its nozzle head, and the toilet roll holder was positioned awkwardly, making it difficult to reach. The shower water temperature was also difficult to regulate, frequently fluctuating between too hot and too cold. Soundproofing was limited. We could clearly hear guests in the neighbouring room talking and laughing, and being on the ground floor also meant noise from outside was easily heard. As our room was located beside the fish pond, there were also a significant number of mosquitoes. Despite an insect control machine operating nearby, we still received around nine mosquito bites during our stay. This also meant we couldn’t leave the window open for long, even though we were trying to ventilate the room. While the location and other aspects of the property may appeal to some travellers, the cleanliness, ventilation, maintenance and overall condition of the room significantly affected our stay. We hope these issues can be addressed, as they would make a meaningful difference to future guests’ experience. After the first night, we considered checking out early and moving to another hotel due to the issues we experienced. We approached the front desk to request a refund for the remaining nights, but our request was declined in accordance with the hotel’s policy. As a result, we stayed for the full three-night booking.
