The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa

We stayed at The Westin Langkawi for 5 days and 4 nights with our boy, and we really enjoyed our stay. The resort is a little old, but it is very well maintained and taken care of. Our room was spacious, cozy and comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable. We were lucky to get a room very close to the breakfast area and pool, which was super convenient with a child. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices Japanese, Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western food, plus a kids section and lots of pastries. Some dishes were rotated, so there was always something different to try. I especially loved the chicken curry on our last day it was so good that I went back for it several times and even asked the staff to refill it! The breakfast staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We also met several buggy drivers who were really helpful and genuinely friendly whenever we asked questions. A special mention to Ms Shella from housekeeping ❤️. She took care of our room throughout our 5 day stay and was always friendly, kind, honest and very thorough. We were actually so happy to bump into her on our last day before checking out. Her warm personality definitely made us feel like coming back again. There are also so many activities within the resort pickleball, tennis, squash, basketball, table tennis, futsal, bicycle rental, jacuzzi, sauna, spa and a kids playroom. We even tried kayaking (rm60 for 1 hour) for the first time and had so much fun! The resort also has direct beach access, with kayaking, catamaran and beach volleyball. Just remember to bring beach/water shoes because there are quite a lot of sharp shells in the water. And of course, the hornbills🦜 We spotted them almost every day in the resort. My boy absolutely loved it and was actually very excited to visit Langkawi just to see the hornbills. We also had dinner at the restaurant near the pool on our last day and the food was good, with reasonable portions. Once again, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If I had to suggest just one improvement, it would be upgrading the TV in the room to smart TV. We don’t normally watch much TV while travelling, but on our last day it rained from morning until afternoon, so we stayed in the room to enjoy our final day. There weren’t many interesting channels available, so a better TV/entertainment system would definitely be nice for rainy days. Other than that, everything was superb. We are the kind of family who prefers a slow, chill holiday rather than rushing out to explore everywhere, and The Westin Langkawi suited us perfectly. Definitely coming back again! ❤️🌴🦜

The spa and restaurant ambience are fabulous

We had to wait closed to 2 hrs before our room was ready to be checked in. Reason given was the previous guest checkout late. Swimming pool was dirty. No floor cloth provided in the bathroom. Lift was smelly. During breakfast, all the chefs were not wearing any face mask while preparing food.
