Smile Hotel Tokyo Nishikasai

I had a mixed experience staying at this hotel. On the positive side, the location is very convenient—especially for travelers with luggage. It’s close to the train station, which is equipped with escalators and elevators, making it easy to get around without too much hassle. However, the hotel itself feels quite outdated. There is no proper air conditioning system, so guests are expected to open the windows for ventilation. Unfortunately, this means you’ll also hear a lot of traffic noise from outside, which can be disruptive, especially at night. The room condition was also disappointing. Some of the control buttons appeared to be covered with paper, giving a makeshift and poorly maintained impression. The area under the bed was noticeably dusty, which raised concerns about overall cleanliness. Service was another downside. The staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming, which made the stay feel less comfortable. Additionally, the microwave available for guests was partially broken and only had one usable function. Be aware that if you need to store your luggage for more than a day, the hotel charges an extra fee, which might not be ideal for longer trips. Lastly, the atmosphere of the place felt a bit off at times—I occasionally experienced an unexplained uneasy feeling or goosebumps, which added to the discomfort. Overall, while the location is a strong advantage, the hotel would benefit greatly from renovations, better maintenance, and improved customer service.

The hotel is old, but the price is good and location is excellent. The room is clean and I just don't like the aircondition system, it was hot and not good temperature during my stay (sometimes it is hot)

NOT RECOMMENDED. It's so, so old and uncomfortable. I couldn't open the window in my room (the handle was removed). I couldn't adjust the AC's temperature. The air quality was very bad and it was hard to breath. My room was old, dirty, and dark. The staff was polite and that's the only good thing I can say about this hotel

I got sick with throat pain from the mold smell. Left this place a few days early despite paying double for a new hotel. The whole building has flooding marks and there's a bad smell on every floor. Room was cleaned, but old, and had unpleasant spots. Something was sprayed to barely cover the smell. Felt violated every day i stayed there. Had to leave the window open at all times to get a little bit of fresh air - while the air condition actually seemed to make it worse. Location very far outside any Tokyo action.
