    I was pleasantly surprised by almost all aspects of K’s House in Asahidake. The atmosphere both inside and out is awesome, whether the calmness of the surroundings, the coziness of the shared area, or the warmth of the onsen. I booked one of the private rooms, so I can’t speak to the shared rooms, but it was amazingly spacious and clean— I didn’t even end up using the private shower since the onsen is readily available, and I went fairly late both nights, so I had the bath to myself. The kitchen area is also quite complete— more so than I expected— so I’d definitely recommend grabbing ingredients at a grocery store along the way there in Higashikawa if that strikes your fancy. Just note it can get busy around mealtime. Location is also an uphill walk away from the foot of the ropeway, and honestly not even too far back to Higashikawa. Frankly, I wish I could’ve stayed longer, as this was easily one of my most comfortable stays across 5 visits to Japan so far.

    Amazing place! Very cozy and a nice vibe. Stayed there in autumn and it’s a mágicas place. The onsen after a mountain day is a sheer pleasure.

    Casual, nice place a bit like a hostel: elaborate, quality shared kitchen, refrigerators and freezers, morning fresh coffee, two slices of thick white bread and jam. Small simple but adequate rooms with toilet only. But who needs a private shower when there is an onsen, and what a fine one it is! The wash up area is densely steamy, and there are both indoor and outdoor pools. The outdoor pool looks out on the forest, lit up at night. Delightful! Great base if you’re going up the ropeway to hike the high area. Unless you do that, little hiking around the onsen area. Staff is exceptionally helpful. Only hot food available is up at the ropeway building, and very limited selection. You can buy many basics in the hotel store, including instant noodles and drinks. We liked it for a short stay till we ran out of trails to hike. Good idea to bring your own food fixings.

    Disgusting conduct from foreign tourist who couldnt be bothered to follow onsen etiquette. You need to wash your body properly and scrub WITH SOAP before entering the bath. Unfortunately the experience was so negative I can't give a high rating, even though the hotel staff were nice and my room was decent.
