    Stayed at Hotel Shikhar & Restaurant in Almora recently. It’s a decent mid-range option right in town. Good: 1. Location: Right in Almora market area, so shops, cafes, and local transport are all walkable. Views of the Kumaon hills from upper floors are a nice bonus. 2. Rooms: Clean, spacious, and well-maintained for the price. Bed was comfortable and room service was prompt. 3. Restaurant: In-house restaurant serves basic Kumaoni + North Indian dishes. Food was hot, simple, and reasonably priced. Good for breakfast before heading out. Could be better: 1. Parking: Limited parking space, so if you’re driving, ask them to reserve a spot in advance. 2. Noise: Being in the market area means some street noise during the day. Ask for a rear room if you prefer quiet.
