    We have stayed at the Alex many times and always enjoy our stay. It is walking distance to most things. The beds are extremely comfortable. I do wish that there was a non-dairy butter option for breakfast however. That is my only criticism and it is minor.

    We love staying at the Alex hotel. It has fast become our home away from home when we have events or special occasions and want to stay close to event locations in the city. It doesn’t feel upright like some city hotels do, instead it is warm and inviting and the staff are unobtrusive. We will continue to return. The one downside of any, is that they don’t do a cooked breakfast just continental, so we usually end up getting uber eats for scrambled eggs/pancakes etc.

    The location was great and most of the staff were friendly. However for the price the room is extremely under equipped with not even a wardrobe or iron and very sparse interiors. Beyond this our main issue was the carpet which was sticky and had what looked like mould in some areas and no slippers given. The breakfast that we paid extra for and was called “continental spread” only had granola, croissant, chocolate croissant every single day. Very small spread. Only good part is the location which is very central although loud on weekends.
