Budget wise, perfect. Comfy bed, hot shower, small refrigerator. BUT there were too many noises at night that sounded like someone’s breaking in. Loud AC. And a guest mistook our room for their own.

I booked Santo Niño Residences in Lucena thinking I got a good deal, but I was really surprised when I saw the actual place. My first impression was that it’s dirty and not maintained. There was no one at the reception, so I had to call the lady to let her know I was there. The photos on Agoda must have been taken when the place was brand new, because the current condition is totally different. Inside, the property was full of issues. There were water leaks everywhere, aircon water draining into the kitchen sink, dripping from the CR sink all day and night. Facilities were broken: the bidet, shower, and toilet flush didn’t work. The curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed since day one. The cabinets were dirty and old, with stained pillows inside. There wasn’t even a proper mirror in the room. On the plus side, the Wi-Fi was good , AC the TV worked fine. Maybe I’m just overreacting because I was expecting more of like a AirBNB experience, but it made me sad to see that the place has great potential if managed properly. If I had the chance to run this kind of business, I would never let it end up like this. For Agoda, I think there should be a representative or inspector to check properties against the posted advertisements, maybe once or twice a year would be enough. If the owners don’t repair or upgrade, then at least the photos should be updated to show the real condition so people know what they’re booking. I want to make it clear that I’m not writing this review to destroy the business or the reputation of the owner, but to help them improve. This is a calling not only for them but for everyone running this kind of business, guests deserve honesty, fair and proper service.
