Vajra House became much more than just a guesthouse for me — it's my home, office, workshop, and a space for absolute reset. I came here for just a couple of days, planning to move on soon, but the atmosphere turned out to be so warm and the space so alive that I ended up staying for a whole month. And whenever I leave for a few days, the thought of looking for somewhere else doesn't even cross my mind — I know for sure I'm coming back here. Why this place is so amazing: Comfort in every detail: Having a kettle and a fan right in the room makes it so easy to settle in and take care of things without having to run out. But whenever you want to step out, the shared kitchen is huge, spacious, and super well-equipped — an absolute pleasure to cook in.  The Vibe & Community: There aren't many people around, which creates a special, intimate and comfortable atmosphere. Guests come from all over the world, everyone is busy with their own cool projects, and it's fascinating to see. This is a place where you actually want to wake up, plan a new chapter of life, and create.  Workspace: There are plenty of cool spots in the common areas to settle in with a laptop, making it an ideal place to work and think productively.  Aesthetics & Location: A special love of mine are the traditional Newari carved wooden window shutters. You wake up, open the balcony — and you can watch the life of the city and temples right from the comfort of your room. The location in Patan is ideal: it’s quiet all around, Durbar Square and charming streets are just a stone's throw away, yet the guesthouse gives you a total sense of privacy and safety.  The People: The hosts and staff are amazingly tactful and nice people; you feel right at home here, like part of a big family.  If you want to truly experience Kathmandu, get inspired, and have an ideal base for living and working — this is 100% my spot. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful stay at Vajra House in Patan and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The location is exceptional—you wake to the gentle sound of temple bells, locals going about their morning prayers, and the beautiful rhythm of everyday life in Patan. It has such an authentic, peaceful atmosphere and was one of my favourite parts of staying here. My room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. I was fortunate to receive an upgrade, which I really appreciated. There’s also a lovely rooftop terrace that’s perfect for watching the sunset, along with a small shared kitchen and fridge where you can make a cup of tea or prepare some fresh fruit. The staff were exceptional. Salish, in particular, was incredibly kind, helpful and responsive, always happy to share local tips, organise my laundry, and assist with anything I needed. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everyone made me feel genuinely welcome. Another bonus was the nearby Drip Inn Cafe, which serves excellent coffee and delicious meals, and would even deliver food to the guesthouse when needed. If you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to experience the real charm of Patan, I highly recommend Vajra House. It was a memorable stay, and I’d be delighted to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Vajra House, Patan. The rooms were much nicer than expected, spacious, well-ventilated, and very comfortable. The rooms facing outside offered beautiful views, and thanks to the excellent natural ventilation, there was no need for air conditioning. The property is located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, yet it is within walking distance of Patan Durbar Square, making it very convenient for exploring the historic city. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. One of the highlights of the property is its rooftop terrace, which is perfect for enjoying an evening tea, watching the sunset, or spending a peaceful early morning. If you're looking for clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced accommodation without the need for breakfast or additional hotel facilities, Vajra House is an excellent choice. I would definitely stay here again. its is between Hotel and AIRBNB.....

The only areas where the property could improve are the reception and accessibility. The entry and reception area could be better defined, and it would be reassuring to have a staff member available at the reception at all times, especially for families and international tourists, as it adds a greater sense of security and assistance. Additionally, the property does not have an elevator, so guests traveling with elderly family members or those with mobility challenges may find it difficult to access the upper floors via the staircase.
