Scarsa pulizia, elettrodomestici vecchi che funzionavano male. Abbiamo avuto problemi con la lavatrice. Non funzionavano, sul sito era presente determinati elettrodomestici e poi erano diversi, avevamo scelto questa casa anche per la presenza della lavatrice che poi non abbiamo potuto usare durante la settimana perchè hanno provveduto a sistemare solo penultimo giorno. Sarebbe da incrementare più pulizia.

Villa Rodea is not a brand-new house, however almost perfect, offering peace and privacy – ideal for a relaxing holiday. It is tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac, but not to far from the centre. Taxis and buses are also within a 5–10 minute walk, but renting a car is useful, Although the property didn’t have private parking, we always found space just outside for our two rental cars. Inside, the villa is spacious and well laid out. A few steps lead to a hallway with a shared toilet, opening into a large living area and fully equipped kitchen. There’s even a separate outdoor laundry space with a washing machine and drying lines. The kitchen has everything you need: e.g. dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster – and plenty of plates, cutlery and glassware (including wine and champagne glasses). The open-plan living room features comfy sofas, a dining area, and a TV, with direct access to the terrace from both the lounge and kitchen. The bedrooms are set apart from the main living area, so those sleeping won’t be disturbed. There are five twin or double bedrooms, all spacious, each with its own en-suite (with bath or shower). Four rooms open directly onto the terrace, while one has a window only. All rooms are air-conditioned (note: settings must stay above 20°C). Outdoors is fantastic: a large garden, amazing views, a heated pool with electric cover and sun loungers. There’s also a big outdoor dining table (seating up to 10), a barbecue area, a table tennis table, and a pool table. They were little worn, but worked just fine. We were provided with beach and bath towels (which were changed), as well as kitchen linen. Guests are responsible for taking rubbish to the bins on the street, as there’s no cleaning service during your stay – be sure to read the Villa Manual for details. Overall, Villa Rodea is a brilliant choice for larger families or groups of friends – we’d love to come back!

The most embarrassing was an unusual and slightly awkward layout choice for two of the bedrooms, where the entrance from the terrace leads straight into the en-suite bathroom. There’s no curtain or screen to block the view, so anyone outside can see directly in while someone is brushing the teeth or getting ready. The toilet and shower do have their own doors, thankfully, but stepping out of the shower does leave you in full view of the terrace. It would be easy to solve it with putting some curtains in front of the terrace doors. In the bedrooms some beds were quite firm and seemed a bit worn. We think a simple mattress topper could make a big difference in comfort. Besides we had only a couple of minor issues. In the laundry area, it would be good to find a few drying racks alongside the clotheslines. We also experienced a power outage during our stay that lasted several hours. When the electricity came back, one switch on the main fuse box remained down, and we weren’t confident forcing it back on ourselves. Fortunately, the villa caretaker was available via WhatsApp and arrived within five minutes to fix it. We also experienced a temporary water outage twice. Again, the caretaker – who happened to be there to clean the pool – helped resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. He and the cleaning lady were very helpful and friendly.
