Conn Cottage

Self-catering, everything you need is there. The hot tub was a nice way to relax in the evening, this is a large sturdy tub and easy to use, lovely patio areas, but something could be done to enhance these areas with some sturdy seating, front or back area it would make for a perfect rest day just enjoying the surrounding sounds of nature and the calming waterfalls. There was a little confusion with parking but it all worked out well in the end, and I would return maybe a little more prepared with some camping chairs. A nice touch with a welcome bottle of wine and some other items which was thoughtful, plenty of towels. So no need to add extra baggage with towles. Property looks fresh. Don't take your hairdryers ladies there was one in every bedroom. There's a little shop across the road not massively stocked but you can get some gorgeous local bacon and eggs etc. For cyclists they have a hub for air and making repairs.

Collection of keys could be made easier we could not locate them initially and obviously I am not going to publish here where they were eventually found. The weather was gorgeous but found ourselves being unable to sit outside comfotably as the wooden bench set almost collapsed so you could only sit on the four corners unless your a child the second tree cut bench was not secured to the wall and easily topples so be aware if you have small children. Dusty in the main bedroom around the bed. Also the larger bedroom had a plastic mattress protector which makes for a very hot sleep. The mattress also needs turning regularlaly as there was quite a hump in the middle of the bed which pushes you to the edge of the bed. No complaints in respect of the other beds all being reported as comfortable. Also mirrors needed in bathrooms. The pub is approximately 150 yards away with lovely food, warning if you wish to eat, I would book as they do turn you away.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Very clean. Very warm wood burning stove in lounge. Pub was wonderful we ate there every evening. Location was perfect for Haweswater and Ullswater. Handy local shop and garage.

The radiator in the bathroom didn’t work and the downstairs shower room was very small.
