Classical Villa Archontiko D&M

The Villa is excellent value, a very good price for what it is. The host was friendly and accommodating. The Villa was conveniently located short walks from beach, shops and old town.

Très bien placé. Propre et pratique pour aller à la marina. Excellent service de Yorgos, très gentil, facile à contacter et près à rendre service.

Biz 6 kişi konakladık ama dört kişi için daha uygun bir yer çift kişilik yataklar dışında ki tek kişilik yataklar çok rahat değildi

Booked for 5 adults...58 yo parents, our 2 sons, 30s and older sons partner. Lovely amount of space, 2 bathrooms, and the terrace with table and chairs in the shade, which was where we spent most of our time. Plenty of shops and supermarkets within a few minutes walk. Very close to bus stop for Rhodes Town and beaches, which was important as one of our party has difficulty walking. But still close enough to town and beaches to walk easily for those that want to. I was especially grateful to host when myself and partner, having travelled on overnight ferry from Athens, were allowed to check in at 9am. All in all, it was a great family holiday and the location and facilities helped to make it so.

This is difficult, as we did have a wonderful holiday. But... The beds were really uncomfortable. Ours was only bearable by putting a padded quilt from the linen cupboard over the mattress. Our single son moved to the living room sofa after one night in his bed. No privacy whatsoever for couples. Bedroom 3 was on an open gallery directly above bedroom 2, which in turn had a window into bedroom 1! Not too much of a problem for us but something to be aware of for group bookings. I was a bit annoyed that despite the booking and payment being in my name (female) and all of the text correspondence prior to arrival being with me, the host only seemed willing to communicate with my male partner in person. There were no cleaning basics provided. We arrived Saturday and realised Sunday that there were no additional toilet rolls, had to go shopping for them. Difficult as most shops don't open Sunday away from the main tourist areas. We also had to buy washing up liquid, bleach, laundry tablets for the washing machine, and bin bags. This might seem trivial but we paid a decent sum of money to stay there. Which brings me to the biggest problem. When we checked out, the host came to collect our keys, and as we were preparing to leave, read the electricity meter and demanded €150 for our use of electricity. There is nothing in the terms and conditions that warn you of this. He insisted that we had been informed, but we certainly hadn't. This is the first time I have ever been asked to pay for electricity usage, let alone on top of the £1.3k we had already paid to stay for a week. Ended up walking away having given him €50 as a compromise, which I now regret, just to get out of a horrible situation. Left a really bad taste with us all. Sad, as even though there were other shortcomings, I was already planning to book the villa again for my family. But not after that. A real shame.
