Town of Dewey Beach -- The Opal #306S

Location was great - close to the beach. Linens and towels were provided and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Also having a washer/dryer was convenient. 2 parking spots were included which is important in a small beach town.

Nothing! We had a great stay!

Great location and all restaurants were good.

The town of Dewey Beach is great, the hotel is close to the beach, and the suite had plenty of room with a modern beach vibe, lofted ceilings, and a cool little banister outside of the living room so you could open the double doors there and kind of convert the feeling of the whole space into a balcony though there was no actual space to step on outside between doors in the living room and the banister.

When I opened the drawer on the nightstand next to the bed the first day we were there, the face came off in my hands and fell onto my big toe which, not to sound dramatic, still hurts a noticeable amount over a week later. When I looked at the face of the drawer it didn’t appear there was any glue applied to it or screws that would have fixed it to the drawer so it was just floating there waiting to fall on the first person who touched it.The dish disposal didn’t work. I called to report it and guest services offered to fix it which really I didn’t want a repair man working on a dish disposal during my vacation so I asked that they wait until we leave. They said they would. The repair man (who was very nice) showed up five minutes later to fix the dish disposal and said no one had told him we had asked that they wait until we left to fix it. There was nowhere to rinse your feet before returning to your room from the beach (or at least no one in guest relations could tell me if it existed or where it was and I walked the entire property but could only find a disconnected hose with a hand pump spigot that didn’t function when I pumped it.) You are expected to take your own garbage to the dumpster which is fine but there is no sign identifying which way to the dumpster is and no sign saying the dumpster I found was indeed the one for the Opal so I’m still not sure if I used the right one. Guest relations with Vacasa were not helpful at all and it was as though they had no knowledge of the property itself such as when they told me to “look in a closet” when I asked if there was somewhere to rinse sand off your feet when returning from the beach or when I asked where the dumpster was and they told me they weren’t sure but “it says it’s on the left.”
