Great location, comfortable and clean.

It was good to be in the centre of Bamburgh village and the location was quiet. We loved having an enclosed garden for our dog. The cottage was warm (in icy conditions) and the bed was comfortable. It was good to have some items left for our use in the kitchen (milk, eggs, tea and coffee) and the kitchen was well equipped.

The bedrooms are small, we were only two and needed to use the second bedroom for luggage. Parking is on road and not close to the cottage, which needs to be taken into account for loading and off-loading. We did not have problems finding a spot that didn't block others - but this could be an issue in a busy period.

Much needed rest in a property that was just like home - everything we could possibly need and more.

What was not to like - Home from Home. Everything we needed, superb locations and excellent recommendations for places to see and dine from Richard and Clare. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending this place.

Functional house, with old beds and a bad smell of 'wet dog'

Centrally located in Bamburgh, easy to walk to beach and pubs. Kitchen well equipped. Property had been cleaned and was tidy.

The property is dated and on an ugly housing estate. Whilst it had been cleaned, there was an overwhelming smell of 'wet dog'. This was particularly bad in the lounge, which made it an unpleasant place to relax in. Mattresses and pillows were old and uncomfortable - we slept badly and it caused my asthma to flare up. We ended up buying new pillows, pillowcases and a diffuser and candles to make our stay bearable. We registered a complaint with Booking.com, however after a month of chasing there has still been no response from the Owner, which sums up the lack of care towards this place. We will not be returning!

The location, the beds and cleanliness.

The boiler made a very loud noise inside the bedroom which made it impossible to sleep while the shower was being used. We tried to contact the number provided on the reservation to make a special request and no one responded.
