That incredible seaside view is absolutely exceptional. Just open wide the sliding window and take it all in, rain or sunshine. The experience made me regret not taking a seaside apartment in previous years. The apartment couldn't be better located, directly in front of the beach and a few minutes on foot from the supermarkets. Downstairs there's an automated convenience store with a wide variety of pre-packaged food that just needs a minute in the microwave. Restaurants, icecream shops, they're all conveniently nearby. The stop of the coastal tram is also just a few minutes away. Parking is a bit challenging for longer term, but for loading/unloading the car there are short term parking spots around the corner (10 meters away) or the car can enter briefly on the promenade very early in the morning. Street parking can be conveniently paid through several apps; the automated parking enforcement cars are patrolling frequently in the area. For long term parking there is a large, multi-level parking maybe 10 minutes on foot away, with even better pricing than on the street, plus the protection from seagulls. The apartment had all we needed: good beds, a well equipped kitchen, and a clean bathroom. Neighbors are quiet, the elevator is silent, and the apartment is high enough not to hear any noise from the street (cleaning and garbage trucks doing their rounds early in the morning). I wasn't aware that the electricity has become such an expensive problem in Belgium to require an extra deposit, and I was a bit confused and worried about the energy management solution which seemed complicated to ensure that the hot shower, hot plate and electrical heating do not run together at the same time. In reality, it wasn't a problem at all; we didn't need any heating, and it never happened to shower and cook at the same time. All that worry was completely nonsense, and the deposit was returned promptly after our departure.

The building has very long and narrow apartments, which may seem a bit odd at first, but isn't really an issue. The consequence was that the larger bedroom had direct windows facing outside, while the smaller bedroom with bunk beds had only a small window to the hallway, above its door, so fresh air was a bit constrained. As we went to the seaside for the sun, the view, the sound AND the salty air, we solved the problem by temporarily lifting the door from its hinges and simply setting it aside. Having ample fresh air during the night felt much better (for us at least) than sleeping with the door closed. We put the door back in 30 seconds before we left, and all was well. There's really nothing else that can be done about it - that's the architecture of all buildings on the beach front.

De zetel in de living zit niet comfortabel daar het een zetelbed is. Enkel basisfuncties van Telenet wat de tv betreft.

De locatie was top! Mooi uitzicht op de 8ste verdieping! Ook het achtergelegen terras had een zeer mooi uitzicht over de polders. Westende is ook een zeer aangename badstad. Middelkerke en Nieuwpoort zijn ook niet te ver uit de buurt.

Bij aankomst was het appartement nog vuil. Spaghettisaus tussen keukenkasten, stofnetten. Kortom het was niet correct genoeg gepoetst. Al moeten wij wel toegeven dat de Host direct actie heeft ondernomen om een kuisploeg te sturen die alles heeft opgelost. Echter is het niet aangenaam om op die manier je vakantie te starten. Hopelijk maakt de kuisploeg deze fouten niet meer.
