The property was excellent, clean and tidy, well equipped and the hosts were super helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for us, and everything we needed was provided. great communication from the hosts before we arrived and during our stay.
The double bed was not so comfy, the mattress had definitely seen better days.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay at this countryside home. The location is beautifully secluded — the narrow country roads leading to the house made it feel like a proper escape. Waking up to the sound of birds each morning was such a relaxing way to start the day.
The grounds were beautiful, with big trees and space to explore. Our toddler loved running around the garden area near the house. However, the designated play area was quite overgrown and surrounded by nettles, so it didn’t feel safe for him to use — which was a bit disappointing. That said, older children would likely enjoy the outdoor space more, and it seems especially well-suited to guests with dogs.
Inside, the house was quite dark, but during a heatwave that turned out to be a bonus — it stayed nice and cool. The kitchen had everything we needed, though we didn’t cook much as we were out with family most of the time.
The hosts were very friendly and responsive — they brought us a fan and a hoover quickly when we asked. The kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked with essentials, and the shower was so lovely I wanted to bring it home! I couldn’t quite figure out the temperature control, but it still worked well.
There were a few toys and board games, which was a nice touch. Since it's a dog-friendly home, there was a bit of a dog smell inside, but nothing too strong.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay. It’s a great location for visiting Exeter and the surrounding areas by car. I’d recommend it more for couples, dog owners, or families with older children — not ideal for very young kids, but still a nice countryside getaway.
Just how overgrown the park was and the smell of dog/cat when using the vacuum.

Location was excellent, very peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful garden full of trees and birdsong. The dog was very happy! Access into Exeter was very easy. The cottage was small but the cooking area had been very cleverly thought out and everything was to hand. Excellent bathroom with lovely shower.
It was a little bit dark inside and just slightly musty but nothing to worry about and certainly didn't spoil anything.
