The Savoy Suite

We actually ended up staying in the Princes Suite as there was an issue with the hot water in the Savoy. Our alternative accommodation was a Lovely modern apartment. Very spacious. Two bathrooms, air conditioning in all rooms. Elevator to get our luggage up to the first floor. Great location 15 minutes walk from the Colosseum. Salvatore is an excellent host - very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Excellent communication- booked a shuttle for us to the cruise port at the end of our stay.

Muy buena ubicación, nosotros llegamos en tren a la estación de Termini y el hotel estaba a 3 cuadras de la misma. También había muchos comercios y lugares para comer. Relativamente cerca de los puntos de interés, 2,5 km del Coliseo, se puede ir caminando perfectamente. Mención especial para Salvatore que siempre estuvo bien dispuesto indicándonos como llegar, movernos y respondiendo nuestra inquietudes ¡¡ Nos estaba esperando a la hora que indicamos que llegábamos. Gracias Salvatore e hija ¡¡

Nada para decir, quizás el precio y que no tuviera la opción del desayuno, pero ya lo sabíamos al reservar.

Perfect space near the main train station. Salvatore could not have been more helpful. Tips for places to visit and where to eat like a local. Booked a fantastic transfer to the airport at a good price. Really flexible with check in/check out.

Only thing it might perhaps benefit from is a comfy sofa in one of the rooms. But that is a suggestion not a complaint

Positives: + good shower with overhead (rain head) and additional handheld in each. + fixing hot water heater - fast response. The hot water heater stopped working when we got back from a long sweaty day of exploring. No hot water to take showers before dinner. While on the phone with the host, we tried resetting the unit, and even the fuse. The repair guy got there within an hour. We had left for dinner by then and could shower afterwards. + gave us a book on Naples as a courtesy gift.

Negatives: 1. The listed address in booking.com is NOT the actual address. When booked it looked very near the train station -walkable. Later, the address was provided as 2 metro stops from the train station - not walkable. Ask for the address before you book. 2. Was the only one of 4 properties that asked for a deposit of 360 Euro outside of booking (Sumup link) and wanted CASH at the start of the stay (which forced me to get Euros from my bank in the US since Rome was our first stop). Could have charged through booking. com but didn't. Could have allowed payment through prior Sum Up link, but didn't. That didn't sit well with me. 3. The AC in 2 of the 3 bedrooms didn't work. It was 90F+, so that is not acceptable. The host got a couple of fans there to blow around the warm air. You CANNOT list such an apartment in the summer and have 2 of 3 ac units not working the whole time we were there. We were told they were new units and that we were the first ones who needed to use them. The cleaners or host could have checked that they worked... After immediately realizing they didn't work, I messaged the host to call the AC technician. Then after the AC guy came, it was determined they had to order a part, but wouldn't get there before our stay was over (4 nights). While a host cannot predict when something might break, as a guest, it just isn't right. Check the weather, see it is going to be 90F and check the AC! He was polite and responsive and even gave us a book on Naples. That didn't make the stay as good as it could have been... 3. Layout/space of the apartment - there is a small couch in the kitchen that is being called the living room. There isn't one. Look at the photos carefully. If you need a nightly gathering space, it is the small table in the kitchen or in a bedroom. 4. Smaller than expected "twin" beds in one of the bedrooms. Maybe that is the standard size.
