La casa de Rui es especial. Tiene una ubicación excelente, eso sí un montón de escaleras para acceder. Al lado de la Ribera y de Gaia, así como de la estación y Catedral. La casa es una casa antigua con mucho encanto. Muebles antiguos. Rui te explica la zona, el valor de la casa... El barrio se ve muy viejo, con muchas casas abandonadas. Nos encantó la hospitalidad, tener la nevera llena de bebidas, fruta... Rui estuvo atento a nuestras necesidades y nos recomendó restaurantes, rutas, etc. Super bien.

Por decir algo, pero no tiene que ver con la casa, las escaleras para acceder, pero quien no quiera escaleras o cuestas... Porto no es su ciudad.

De buitenkant van de accommodatie is niet mooi maar je verbaast jezelf over de inrichting met bv verse bloemen!

What an amazing, comfortable and welcoming house. We weren't expecting to have such a big and furnished house. The host went above and beyond our expectations by first of all : being there! Most of the other places we booked, nobody showed up, just messaging with the owner. This owner brought us fruits and wine from his family's vineyard, he showed us around the house, explained the little technical specifications that you otherwise always have to figure out for yourself about a new place, he brought out maps of the area to give us history and context about the Douro Valley and the city, showed us areas to visit, left us water and beer in the fridge, and kept messaging us through WhatsApp about places to visit based on interests we mentioned. The place is huge, it's clean and it has a lived-in feeling that we loved. It isn't empty and only decorated with the bare minimum from Ikea. There's antique furniture, Art, and all the little things you wish you had on a multi-night stay. Porto is a city of stairs. We weren't expecting this city to be this steep. Never ever a flat ground except on the bridge and on the dock at the river. The House is located right in the middle, between the lower and upper city.

One morning after leaving to explore, we left some food scraps on some plates in the sink, when we came back, it was filled with ants! There were little tiny ants all over the sink. We cleaned everything and never left any food scraps after that. There were much less ants the next morning and never after that. The House is between two abandoned houses, on a mostly abandoned street. My wife was a little worried at first but we spent 4 days in Porto and found out that it's a very welcoming city. Even at night, the street is well lit and secure. And when you look around every street, you soon find out that almost half of all the buildings are abandoned anyway. It's their reality.

This property has a great location. It is close to the city center and just near is a great coffee shop and a wine bar with lovely views of the city.
