Comfortable historic hotel.
Location is excellent for Ironbridge, being directly opposite the bridge. The hotel is an old building adapted for its current use and retains a lot of its history. It is not a five star place but is clean and comfortable and somewhere I enjoy despite a couple of little niggles. Staff are friendly and it also serves as a local pub. Food basic but delicious and well priced. Price of the room is a little expensive for what you get but I like staying in places that wear their age and am happy to pay for it. Ironbridge would be a poorer place without this hotel in pretty much the way it is. It is straightforward and honest like the people that built the area and made the heritage we like to visit.
Sink taps in the bathroom in my room could do with tightening as one moved about as I turned it. Hard to fault much else. TVs in the bar--something I hate, especially when each TV is showing different channels and within earshot of each other. I'd also suggest a panel behind the bar fridges etc to improve the appearance from certain bar tables and the hallway. Looks half finished and messy.

A warm welcome and comfortable rooms.
Staff very welcoming, room large and comfortable. Very clean with a nicely appointed bathroom. Bed very comfortable. I ate in the bar during the evening and enjoyed a reasonably priced and pleasant meal. Bar type food only--don't expect and Michelin stars but what was served was very pleasant.
TV in the room had no internet connection so didn't work. Only there for one night so this was not a problem. I am not disabled but if you are you need to know there's no lift and plenty of stairs.

Basic hotel but as expected as stayed there before.
The location is 100% The staff were very pleasant. The bed was comfortable. Nice shower.
We wanted to watch the GP qualification on Channel 4.... but could only get Sky News or films. All other channels said " No Signal" (probably operator error). The room was a bit chilly.

Nerve wracking
When we arrived the owner asked us to pay the full amount £120 again although we had already paid booking . com . He said he no longer had a relationship with booking . com and we should ask for a refund from them . On my return I asked booking . com for a refund and have still not received it !!
