Just barely sufficient one of booking ‘s bad experiences

Firstly there was apparently NO parking in the area unless you had a Local Authority permit. We could not access the property, which looked run down, because of the four keypads by the entrance none opened when I put in the pin code I was given. We also knocked the door-hard!

This place has potential for a comfortable stay but amenities are lacking.

The beds were comfortable and the garden was usable - although there’s no garden furniture. The host was very quick to respond and pleasant to deal with. Despite being on a busy main road, traffic noise was minimal in the flat.

There is only one chair and a tiny stool, even though the flat is advertised as being for two people. NB: there’s no toaster. We had to ask for more crockery as there was only enough for one person; we even had to ask for a saucepan - thankfully these were all promptly delivered. When we arrived there was less than half a loo roll left, with no replacements, and there were no tea towels or clean sponges to wash up - and the Fairy Liquid had been watered down. The shower sealant is old and the water leaks onto the bathroom floor. Not the host’s fault but the neighbours had a party until the early hours one night in the week and again were talking so loudly that I had to knock on the door at 4:30am Sunday morning to ask them to be quiet. My colleague and I had work that morning and our sleep was seriously disturbed. Not the most restful stay.

OK if all you want to do is sleep

The flat had plenty of room and was clean. Communication with the owner by text was easy and accurate

I didn't like being asked to email ID beforehand and having to ask for the key code for the front door. The flat furnishings and amenities were basic and it is the least equipped self catering place I have ever stayed in. There is nowhere to put any clothes or hang them up, no chair/ sofa to sit on, no saucepan etc to cook with in the kitchen, no mirror, and no teatowel. These are all easy to fix.

Good value for money. We booked at very short notice due to not being happy with our accommodation booked elsewhere and

Good basic accommodation, no frills but ticked all the boxes we needed. Good location about 10mins walk to restaurants and bars, it was clean, beds were comfortable and nice hot shower. Double doors to garden appreciated especially as it was a hot day. Good nights sleep, no noise or disturbances.

It was advertised with garden and and parking space but the garden was so overgrown it wasn’t useable and parking was on a yellow line in a narrow road nearby. Also another mirror would be useful as the only one was in the bathroom and being 2 ladies going to a wedding had to do make-up and hair in relays.
