George Canning Denmark Hill, London

The room was clean, as pictured and fit for purpose! It was also very warm which was great, as you often find it difficult to turn up the heating in some places but this was perfect for me as someone who is cold all the time. It is also very close to the hospital which is why I booked. The staff were very accommodating to a request I had which was extremely useful and much appreciated! My room was on the top floor which was up two flights of stairs. Fine for me, but just something to consider, because I didn't see a lift.

Location and staff.

It was perfect.

Location for us was great. Despite being over a pub with the windows closed it wasn’t loud. Room had a very good fan to keep the room cool. It was clean and cleaner than I expected (some reviews said it wasn’t very clean!) Bed & pillows were super comfortable. Tea coffee and water - nice touch. More milk would’ve been good as well we’re staying two nights but not a huge issue. Shop literally 2 doors down.

Felt it was hugely hugely overpriced for what we actually got. Very basic and cleaner than but wasn’t value for money.

Staff were friendly, room was spacious. We stayed during a heatwave, and while there was no air-conditioning, there was no issue being given a fan when we asked for one.

If the pub wasnt open, there was no way to speak to anyone. Price high for a very basic experience. Location is quite out of the city and there was no information in the hotel about transport options. Arriving at the pub, I was asked to pay by being sent a link from a payment site I was unfamiliar with. I opted to pay through the booking.com app for peace of mind and several times I was told it hadn't gone through despite showing my booking was now listed as paid on the app.
