The location and the space were great! Very clean, plenty of space, and the host was easy to get in touch with!

The only thing we wish the house had were some fans for the bedrooms upstairs. It was very warm in the house as it was July and having fans in the bedrooms, especially at night would have been a nice addition.

Super central location and hosts let us drop our cases at the property before check in so we didn't have to carry them around. Bottle of fizz on arrival was a lovely touch.

The location is brilliant. Within walking distance to all the main highlights of Canterbury but on a quiet street, away from any noise at night. The standard of decoration is good - this is clearly a house that the host(s) put a lot of work into. The pictures are accurate and it looks as you expect.

Cleanliness was a major issue. We emailed the host on our return to explain the issues (with pictures showing all) and after being emailed twice and messaged twice, she finally replied. My friend had left a Kindle there, which - if the cleaners had properly changed the beds - they would have easily found after our stay. (I wouldn't normally 'chase' someone, but for an item like a Kindle, it was worth trying to get it back.) But after seven days and only one short message from the host, it was obvious we wouldn't get the Kindle back. Cleanliness issues: condom wrapper and rolled up toilet tissue (maybe a used condom inside??) in plain sight down the side of the main bed; unwashed, smelly and stained (looked like poo stains) towel rolled up on one of the beds (left out as a guest towel); a handful of cutlery and several items of crockery needed scrubbing before use; grimy grill pan which did not look like it had been cleaned for some time; old pair of Crocs left in one of the (dirty) drawers; red bra found in the bedroom; cobwebs on every window frame in the house; vase in the lounge fireplace was caked with dust - clearly not been cleaned in a long time. The shower head was so heavy with limescale, the flow was poor. It's a real shame. The house has clearly been lovingly decorated to a high standard and the location (for the price) is fantastic, but the cleaning standards need looking at. I also feel the host could have at least responded (without having to be chased twice) to give some indication of trying to return the Kindle. I appreciate the host is probably very busy, but I also think it's important to provide some follow-up when things like this are raised. Otherwise, it was a good stay - but the cleaning needs serious attention! Edit - week after posting review: The host is refusing to return the Kindle they claim to have found. We have asked for payment details to pay the postage, but they ignore all messages.
