1 Mile to Magic Sands Beach: Kailua-Kona Cottage

The location was great. Very nice neighborhood. Not too far from the tourist traps.

There were lizards of all sizes everywhere in the house. I was constantly catching them and throwing them out the door everyday. Don't mind reptiles, but this was pretty annoying. The air conditioner is in a weird spot in the hallway so it doesn't do the best job of cooling the place down. There is no TV in the living room, so you literally need to be lying in bed if you want to watch a movie or a bit of tele. The batteries died in the TV remote, so I had to go buy new ones. This was pretty annoying as well. At this price the owners should have backups on hand as well as flashlights for night time walks to and from the beach. I also didn't like having to wash their towels. Most places ask to leave the dirty ones on the floor when you leave. This process took two hours of my last day when I could have been doing something else like enjoying the beach.
