About this chalet rental

Enjoy a family break at this comfortable seaside holiday home, set within the colourful seaside Freshwater Bay Holiday Village, close to the beach and within the magnificent Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

This home sits just 200 metres away from Freshwater East Beach; leave the car at home and enjoy the invigorating freshness of the sand and sea. Freshwater Beach is an award winning beach with a wide bay of golden sand backed by dunes with a stream running through the beach at its southern end. At low tide, the sea reveals plenty of sand for all those ball games without bothering the neighbours. Ideal for a range of water sports and activities including canoeing, SUP, sailing, swimming, fishing, boating or just sit back and soak in the beauty around you. The perfect antidote to a hectic life. Happy days at the seaside!

ACCOMMODATION
Sleeping up to six guests over two bedrooms (and a sofa bed), this bolthole boasts shared on-site facilities including a clubhouse, pub and restaurant to give you a well-deserved night off from the kitchen.

Head inside to relax and unwind in the welcoming, open-plan living area. After sandy days, relax on the sofa and spend family time together playing games or watching a family classic on Netflix. At the back of the house is a flat communal grassed area. Why not sit outside with a glass of wine on our garden chairs and watch the children playing in safety and away from traffic.

Time in the salty sea air will have you needing a peaceful, cosy night’s sleep; head upstairs to rest your head in one of the light bedrooms. The first is a double room, while the second has bunk beds and is suited to children – great for a holiday sleepover with siblings or friends. The recently renovated shower room has plenty of hot water on demand. There is no bath.
Take your breakfast outside to dine alfresco in the garden (shared with other properties on-site) before heading out to explore. There is an allocated parking space (for 1 vehicle) available on site.

The beach was wonderful for our three grandchildren. Jack’s Restaurant was a little expensive but convenient. The beach house 218 was not up to our expected standard. The carpet was grubby and the upstairs flooring was spongy and uneven. The front door was difficult to lock sometimes. The exterior rear facia panels were filthy and moss growth showed it had not been cleaned for a long time compared to neighbouring beach houses. (Photographic evidence is available of the facia but cannot be attached due to limitations of the feedback system). The owner was indifferent when advised of the rear facia. He demonstrated very poor customer care relations with his dismissive response. The Freshwater East holiday village is generally good, just don’t stay in 218 beach house.

We stayed here with our 6 year old boys and overall we were comfortable. The property has convenient parking and is a short walk to a lovely beach. There is a pub onsite too. We spent a lot of time at the local beach, there are also so beautiful local walking trails and Pembroke Castle nearby. Lots of tourist literature in the property which we found helpful. I found it easy to cook basic meals for the family and my children enjoyed playing in the large communal back garden in the evenings. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. The property is cosy but Ok for a family of 4 and the host was responsive and very prompt in fixing an issue with the toilet flush for us. Easy check in and out. We found the bed to be uncomfortable and our backs were a little sore, however that is a personal preference as we like a firm mattress. We also found the accommodation dusty, especially some of the blankets and the children were sneezing from the dust. I wonder if this is because we were the first let of the season. It is a holiday park so convenient and will amenities but not a quaint or rustic as staying in the local villages or guesthouses. Overall a good stay.

Property was as advertised and sufficient for our 4 night stay. The main bedroom could do with a black out blind attached to the wall, the one provided you had to stick to the window and it fell down the first night. A couple of the floor boards in the bedrooms both need fixing down. Great location for the beach!

We had a lovely week here. The property was perfect for our needs as a family with 2 small children as it's super close to the beach and the pub on site is great too. Peter was available over the phone to sort an initial problem gaining access which was much appreciated and really well handled. Would definitely recommend the place and stay again.
