Hotel Helikon, Keszthely

Practically everything was perfect. Food quality and selection were exceptional - as always, this has been our third or fourth stay. The hotel facilities are great, I love the light and playful design. The hotel is truly child and dog friendly. There is a great spa with different saunas (and sauna programes), the children's area is great (indoor/outdoor pools, also for babies), sun terrace, jacuzzi, indoor pools etc. There is a playing room for children, live music in the bar in the evenings and additional prgrammes. My favourite spots are the gym and the jacuzzi, both overlooking the beautiful lake. I appreciate the location, the beautiful park next to the hotel, the promenade, lovely rooms, & 99% of staff: from receptionists to staff in the restaurant, and all other staff, who are very kind and helpful.

1-2 selected bad-mood staff, e.g. in the restaurant, who find it apparently difficult to communicate politely and put on a smiley face. I know they are on the job while we are relaxing, but I'd prefer they did not try to ruin our holidays with snarky, impatient comments in an unacceptable tone when we put down a cup of coffee on the table while they are still cleaning it (especially is one is simultaneously holding a baby).

Helikon has to rank as one of the best hotel complexes I have stayed at. Location on Lakeside with dedicated jetty/beach. Suite rooms are comfortable , spacious and well equipped. Wonderful lakeside room views. Very spacious and well equipped everywhere inside and out. Outstanding spa and pools and some superb children’s facilities. Buffet meals were varied and quality.

The wellness area with multiple pools and saunas were a blast. My 2 you was also very pleased with kid splash zone. People at the reception were very nice.

We stayed 3 nights. I booked 2 rooms: 1 room for 2 adults and child, the 2nd room for 1 adult. I double checked by phone and once again when we arrived if its not a problem - i was assured that all will be ready and prepared accordingly. Unfortunately the hotel didnt do this, they prepare everything to split 2 adults and 1 adult with a child. All was prepared to this - even the bedding or towels were not available for 2 adults in the room with a cot. Our room was not cleaned once during pur stay even if we asked the stuff to come later - they were always coming when our daughter had her nap. The cleaning service was super rude when we just asked to take a trash and exchange towels (which is super important when your kid is still using nappies!). I also was very not happy with the purchased spa treatment - chocolate massage. It was very different from my previous experiences with this treatment, the chocolate was cold and gave me rush. The massage was not really a massage, more a ritual.
