Quiet location in a beautiful setting

A really nice location, ideally situated for all the things around it, and great hosts. The cottage has everything we needed (although we don’t have kids, so no experience there). We would definitely visit again.

We’ll appointed, well located property.

Sawmill Cottage is perfectly formed for 2 people. The design is good - the total space seems bigger than it is, and the kitchen area is well separated from the rest of the open plan area. It’s new and the fittings are all good quality. It’s slightly outside Grantown - only a 10 minute walk through the woods, past a lake. As others have noted, it’s close to the main road but you really don’t notice this as all the views are towards the woods and hills. The local woods hold lots of promise for naturalists and it’s a 5 min walk down to a lovely stretch of the Spey.

It’s a small point but you have to reverse either up or down from a curving slope to park close to the cottage. We found reversing up was easier. We didn’t need to check with the hosts, but there’s a large space for parking at the lower level if you find reversing awkward.

Beautiful, contemporary cottage in an excellent loaction.

Beautiful location. Handy for the town, just a few minutes drive from Grantown on Spey. Scenery stunning. Cottage is right next to woods. The kitchen looks out onto birdfeeders, visited by red squirrels, woodpeckers and great tits. Accommodation is contemporary and very comfoortable. Particularly comfortable beds. Hosts are welcoming and very helpful, their house is on the same site.

No coffee apart from some cappuccino sachets. Plenty of tea, though. Lovely salt and pepper shakers but no salt or pepper. Little things like that can be really helpful. Looked everywhere for ironing board, only spotted it under the bed as were leaving.

It is a fantastic nice cottage and very nice owners. We immediately felt at home.

Relaxing weekend away in great location

Really well equipped and the cleanest holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. Friendly and helpful hosts. Easy access to the town, lovely woodland around the property and great walks nearby. Red squirrels in the garden were lovely.

Cosy and perfectly equipped.

The owners live in a house adjacent to the cottage and meet you on arrival to provide the keys and explain details within the property. The property is perfect for a couple, not big but cosy, and everything that you would need was provided. If there had been issues I am sure that they would have been right there. Location adjacent to the woods and within 10 mins walk to the town, the main road is close by for ease of getting about by car, and the river Spey is directly across the road.

Nothing at all. Some mighty be worried about road noise but it really was very quiet and some might not like having to pay a cash deposit on arrival in order to pay for any damages, that was not an issue for me and is returned on checkout.

Perfect apartment - we loved it

It was just perfect - you can see how much love they put into the apartment. It is Cosy, clean and the furniture is just gorgeous. There are so many details which are just perfect. You find here everything you need, Simon & Sharon are really nice and helpful. It is a short walk into the towncentre with shops & restaurants The bed was very comfortable and the shower has a good pressure. There even is a washing machine. We fully recommend this place

De accommodatie is voortreffelijk en prachtig aan de rand van het bos gelegen op 15 min. lopen van het stadje. De beheerders daarvan zijn vriendelijke mensen.

De routebeschrijving kan eenvoudiger. Het is namelijk bij het enige huis gelegen tussen 2 rotondes.
