A fabulous choice for visiting Stourhead, Shaftesbury and the surrounding countryside.

We had a wonderfully comfortable stay in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The Barn is so well appointed, you will not want to leave! Thank you Maryann for being such a lovely, thoughtful host. We are very much looking forward to a return visit.

Amazing place

We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, cozy, and had everything we needed. The view and location were absolutely breathtaking. We especially appreciated the host’s hospitality – she left us some basic essentials and a delicious homemade chocolate and banana cake, along with bread, eggs, and milk. It made our arrival even more special. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, coziness, and a warm welcome!

Our Son, Daughter-in-Law and Grandchildren met us there and we had a lovely weekend together.

The Barn was clean, comfortable and warm. The weather wasn't good for our weekend but it was lovely to come back to such a nice place. Everything was as we had hoped and met our expectations and the cake that was left for our arrival was delicious.

This is a lovely converted barn with fabulous countryside views and Maryann is a super host.

The generous and thoughtful touches on our arrival - such as bacon, eggs, bread and milk for breakfast and a homemade cake. We also loved being contacted the day before our arrival to say we could arrive a little early if we wanted to and the day before we left to say that there was no rush for us to leave the next day.

Absolute smasher of a property and very convenient for Stourhead and Bruton.

The whole experience was wonderful, the Barn, the location, meeting MaryAnn the host, the welcome pack and the lovely cake baked just for us. Two of the four of us wanted to live there, it was stunning. We were lucky with the weather but the accommodation was faultless anyway. We were made to feel very welcome there

Gorgeous home, lovely views and very comfortable!

It’s a beautiful property with lovely views and very peaceful. Maryann was a great host, we even arrived to a homemade chocolate cake which was delicious! The house is so comfortable and we had a lovely relaxing stay, we all enjoyed spending time there. We came to visit friends, and would definitely look to book again next time, I’m so happy we’ve found somewhere as lovely as this!

Beautiful well presented property. Comfortable and really clean. Had some wonderful welcome treats which made life easier after a long journey to our stay. The host was fantastic and very responsive, going out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. Our son particularly enjoyed being around her lovely horses.

What a place!

You genuinely couldn’t ask for more. The host was so lovely and we were left a little hamper of goodies, it was such a nice touch. The property is stunning, not only great for families but if you wanted a quiet getaway it’s simply perfect. Maryann also baked us some brownies that were left on the kitchen table, I would have to say the best we had tasted. Thank you for such a lovely couple of days. We will be back.

Welcoming, comfortable, perfect

Well, what can we say, fantastic place, excellent views, amazing hostess, everything we wanted and more. The welcome pack was a very nice and unexpected pleasure. We already planning return trip so we can spend more time at the barn as attended a local wedding so not spend enough time there. Cannot recommend this place enough. Maryanne is the perfect hostess. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

A wonderful place to stay!

The Barn is an amazing property, with an ensuite for each of the two bedrooms. The lounge was nice and warm when we arrived, which was much appreciated as we didn't get there until late on a cold, rainy and misty February night. The hamper and fresh brownies were also wonderful!

A luminous sign on the fence that shows clearly where to park would be helpful. The directions said there was parking by the herb garden, but we couldn't find it in the dark, rain and mist.

Amazing barn in a beautiful location

We loved the area, on arrival we was greated with a baked cake, bacon, milk, cereal, bread, biscuits, butter, tea and coffee basically everything, we can't thank these guys enough, it was a great base for 2 days at Longleat, we will definitely be back here, 5 stars.

A welcoming barn in a lovely secuded location - a perfect base to explore the area.

The view from the bedroom and Lounge are lovely. Was nice to greet the horses each monring. The property has an lovely open plan kitchen/diner and a surprise of extras provided by the owner, there was pretty much everything you'd need, and a lovely home-made cake. Owner was delightful.

The living room is a little bit chilly. Windows needed cleaning throughout. Didn’t know how to get Freeview ( Normal channels) had to trial the different profiles, perhaps some basic instructions? There were other tiny things but none which at all impacted our stay, like wobbly tap in loo downstairs.

Idyllic!

The property and the location were both wonderful and the owner could not have been nicer. We arrived to find supplies for breakfast (we arrived at 2 a.m.) plus a delicious home made cake. The rooms are both spacious and homely and the under floor heating works very well. We were there for a family visit rather than a holiday, but I would not hesitate to recommend the property to anyone looking for a high quality, quiet and relaxing location in beautiful countryside, yet barely five minutes away from supermarkets and shops.

Perfect stay at The Barn

The Barn was perfect for our bank holiday getaway. It was in a beautiful & peaceful location with amazing views (especially from the master bedroom). The host was lovely and even left a hamper of gifts and a home made cake for us when we arrived. The Barn is so spacious so it was perfect for our group of friends and it was also very clean. Superb

Loved the quiet location, and the style of the property was great for a couple of days away.

There are a lot of stairs in the property, and with the child, it can be a bit of a concern. There is a stair gate for the main stairs, which is great but if you have a 2 year old like mine, he can open and close doors so did have to watch him. I didn't realise this at the time of booking. Would also say there was a lack of kitchen utensils, which made it difficult for cooking at tines, but we did manage.

Very peaceful and comfy break away.

lovely welcoming feeling (homemade cake ect upon arrival which was lovely) The location is very quiet and peaceful with a really lovely view of the countryside (lovely to sit and watch the cows, dear, pheasant ect). the barn is really nicely decorated and had a homely feeling about it (beds are super comfy). we had a few visits from a lovely Dalmatian which we didn’t mind at all as she was very well behaved. the kitchen was well equipped for a young family’s needs, it’s like a home from home.

one very tiny thing - there was a sort of waterproof mattress protector sheet on the double bed which made us rather sweaty during the night (have to say it was very warm during our stay). not sure it’s really needed to be honest, especially in the summer. it’s not a big deal though and we still had a great nights sleep!

A wonderful relaxing retreat in a beautiful setting.

Bright, spacious and thoughtfully decorated and furnished set in lovely grounds surrounded by amazing views and wildlife literally on your doorstep. Also the host MaryAnn was warm and welcoming and laid on so many generous little extras that I’ve never experienced anywhere else before.
