Classic Amsterdam charm - steep narrow stairs, small but sufficient rooms. Room had cold AC and was a nice break from the scorching temps outside. No complaints, would stay again.

Incredible location. A little difficult to find at first, but easy after that. Close to ever thing you will need! Only a 5 minute walk from the train station too!

Good for a short stay smack in the middle of the city. It's just a bedroom so don't expect too much but it does the trick. Room was clean good shower. Very steep stairs going up to the reception desk.

We just came back from our stay here. This hotel serviceable, especially in a city where you mostly go to your room just to sleep. Positives: great location, 5 min walk from centraal station, 2 min walk to Damrak, supermarket a few doors down, decent size bed, working shower, air-conditioning and radiator, cheaper price than many hotels, relatively clean. Downsides: The rooms are over 5 floors with no lift and EXTREMELY steep staircase with tiny steps that you can't fit a whole foot on. Naturally this is representative of the type of buildings in Amsterdam so cannot be helped but very difficult to climb especially if you are top floor. The rooms are very small, my husband couldn't stand at the end of the bed without bashing the tv or the hanging space, but he is over 6ft. The bathroom is a wet room with pretty much no protection to prevent the entire room from getting soaked. Sink was shoddy and we had to lift it to get the water to drain. But again it was serviceable and we were able to wash, use the toilet etc. We noted other reviews of people having issues with bed bugs which made us nervous however we fully inspected the mattress, pillows, linens and towels and saw nothing of any concern, no bite marks or anything. Staff were present but only a couple were welcoming others were a bit rude. Overnight they block off reception and sleep in there which we thought was odd. The walls here are extremely thin we could hear everyone downstairs, upstairs, adjacent and in reception at all times so not a place to go if you're looking for privacy. Overall it served its purpose in terms of having somewhere to sleep and wash, as well as being a good location for access to main places. It wasn't filthy, no bedbugs etc. Just very basic, small and difficult to navigate due to severity of stairs.
