22 Puddingmoor Cottage - January 2026.

Love Beccles. I visited last July, stayed in a B&B, and loved it so much I have been thinking about retiring there. The cottage is steps away from the town, in a great location. Great TV which I made good use of on those rainy days, especially Netflix. Hairdryer and straighteners are provided. Good kitchen facilities. Lovely clean bedrooms, - the bed in the main bedroom is so comfy.

The boiler is very noisy, at the top of the stairway, but other than that adequate for heating. The extractor in the shower room is constantly on and there is no way of switching it off. Every visit to the shower room was freezing, and not good for my stay in January. A shower mat would have been appreciated. Might be an idea to put a blind on the kitchen door leading out to the back yard, as when going in or out of the shower room, you are in full view of the cottage next door. I feel the check out time of 9am is unusually early.

We were locked out for an hour when we arrived as the owners had changed the code and apparently had not informed anyone.

It was cosy, perfectly located and in good order throughout.

The central heating system is so noisy and in close proximity to bedrooms, however it is an old house and that was perhaps the only reasonable and practical place for it The 2nd bedroom latch didn’t engage properly so the door wouldn’t close. Bit of a faff gaining entry as was unable to gain entry to the front key box. Code appeared to be wrong or else the box was stiff. Sadly at this time of year it is dark by 1600 (minimum check in time) and it was difficult to read the code in the key box without a torch.

Very enjoyable despite a couple of issues.

We were self catering. Location was excellent for our needs. We were attending a celebration at the Waveney hotel so location was perfect. Lo cation to explore the town was also excellent and to enjoy the many eateries!

Parking was terrible. Noisy boiler.
