About this cottage rental
Get your favourite people together at this lovely holiday escape tucked away in the historic market town of Beccles. Sleeping eight people across four bedrooms, it's ideal for large families or groups of friends who are in search of a relaxing retreat to call home while they explore the Broads National Park and the Suffolk Heritage Coast together. Wake up and take a stroll down to the River Waveney (0.5 miles) for a wild swim, or spend the morning at the popular Beccles Lido (0.5 miles) – a much-loved outdoor pool. Set off on foot along the Beccles Marsh Trail, which starts from the Quay (0.5 miles), or hire a day boat there and spend a blissful afternoon messing about on the river. Further afield, make a beeline for the seaside town of Southwold (9 miles) to check out its colourful beach huts and traditional pier.
Step inside and make yourself at home in the welcoming lounge, where a wood burner and a Smart TV provide the perfect place to unwind. On a warm summer afternoon, open the sliding patio doors that lead onto the decking and let the fresh country breeze roll in. At the heart of the property, you’ll find an impressive open-plan kitchen and dining area with a table for everyone to gather around at dinner time. Sliding patio doors leading out to the decking open the whole space up on warm days. Cook up a feast, and then spill out onto the deck as the sun goes down. The ground floor also has a stylish family bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower, as well as a king-size bedroom with an en-suite wet room, and a twin that's great for the kids. Head upstairs and you’ll find a characterful double bedroom set beneath the eaves, as well as a handy twin. A stylish shower room completes the layout.
Step out onto the raised decking – a wonderful place to relax with a coffee and take in the country views – and keep an eye out for squirrels darting through the trees. You may be lucky enough to spot the occasional passing peacock. Steps lead down to a sheltered pergola seating area with table and chairs, setting the scene for al fresco dining. Private parking is available for three cars.
