The Nest

Quiet, comfortable, friendly host. Close to surrounding areas.

Light in kitchen is too low, kept smacking head on it. The ceiling windows all need blinds, as sun comes up and wakes you. The doors to the back porch area need black out curtains as light comes straight through. Ladder to the mazzanine floor needs something to hold on too when you reach the top.

Perfect location to get around and nearby New Forest. The Nest is equipped with everything you can possibly need. Melissa is a very welcoming host with recommendations for things to do and places to visit. You are also given a lot of privacy at the same time.

​It’s the kind of spot where you actually want to hang out rather than just sleep. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the patio and our evenings enjoying the quiet neighborhood vibe. The host was super chillt and stayed in touch just enough to make sure we were settled.

I love everything about our stay.

Melissa is a pleasant and kind host – she met us in person, showed everything, immediately turned on the heating, and gave useful tips about the area. The location is very good – green and quiet surroundings. There was olive oil, salt/pepper, and all the kitchen equipment needed for cooking, including a Tefal air grill. The bedding was clean, and the apartment itself was tidy and pleasant.

However, it was quite hard to find – the location pin on the map covers the whole street. We received instructions, but even they didn’t specify on which side of the street the apartment is (left or right). We had to drive around for about 10 minutes. Would it really be that hard to share exact coordinates? I can share them here: 50.78310019136464, -1.6482817031838606 – made them especially for this review 🙈 Sleeping was uncomfortable. The mezzanine bed felt unsafe – the ladder wasn’t fixed, and there was a high chance of hitting your head on the ceiling or falling from the upper level. We were offered to sleep on the sofa, but it was too small for two people and sagged under weight. There was no tea towel or washing sponge – only a brush, which wasn’t comfortable to use for washing dishes. Check-in starts at 3 p.m., but check-out is at 10 a.m. – so guests are checked in later than usual, but asked to leave earlier. An hour before check-out, we received a message reminding us to leave and to check the instructions in the guest book 🙈 Overall, the morning wasn’t the best – thank you, Melissa, for the experience.
