Apartamento Mar-colina-sol

We absolutely loved our stay here. The apartment is very well equipped and ideally located. We travelled as a family of 5 with 3 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 1 and we had everything we could need including a travel cot, highchair, games, books.... even beach toys! Communication with the host was excellent before, during and after our stay. The personal touch really does make a difference.. Each morning and evening we made use of the outdoor shaded terrace with stunning views - the sunsets are especially beautiful. We loved the beach (tip - get the lift down to level 1 first and walk out from there instead of navigating 7 flights of steps), we had a great lunch at the cafe on the beach, we walked into Carvoeiro which took about half an hour then got a taxi back for less than 5 euros. We also walked 5 mins to the local Spar to get a few essentials and ate out one night at one of the local restaurants. You could easily spend a week or more here. The building itself seems to be getting some tlc which can only be a good thing but do bear in mind this is a privately owned apartment in a large building, not an apart hotel. We didn't use the pool so can't comment on that but communal areas were clean, the lifts worked, the gardens seemed well kept and there was plenty of private parking.

We only got to stay for 2 nights as we were traveling elsewhere in Portugal for a family wedding - we wish we could have extended our stay.

Teresa, the owner, was wonderful from the moment we booked! Although she wasn't on-site, she messaged us detailed instructions for check-in. We were so surprised and delighted to find a lovely welcoming gift upon arrival. The location is absolutely perfect. A beautiful beach is just a five-minute walk down a few steps from the apartment. The stunning sunsets and beautiful sea and cliff views from the balcony were breathtaking. It's also within easy walking distance of great restaurants and a mini-mart. Teresa is such a kind and thoughtful lady who provided meticulous care throughout our stay. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Portugal!
