Very friendly hosts, Steve was super kind and made sure we had a good stay. Sun room to do some reading and smart tv - especially with kids when the weather wasn't the best. The garden looked lovely as well, shame we didn't get to use it coz of the rainy days.
Everything was great. Not something the property can do much about, but the lack of pavement along the busy road was a bit of downer in taking little one out for a walk into town center.

We stayed in the garden room, lovely big room and bathroom. Steve and Malcolm looked after us at breakfast which was plentiful and hot, very friendly and gave us tips on were to visit. Thank you we had a treat time.

The room was dated but large with comfortable beds
The cleaning especially in the entrance could have been better. Too much furniture and personal items

Friendly, warm hosts; flexible and helpful with a couple of non-standard requests; it is a homely place where you are made to feel welcome; cold breakfast options were good, even including a decent yoghurt.
Our room was dusty and there were biscuit crumbs on one of the sides. It felt like it had not been cleaned thoroughly for some time. The whole place seemed a bit tired. The cooked breakfast options were fairly basic, processed, and heavy - just very average for a guest house - so I have no idea why some reviewers have called the breakfast "amazing". The place was nice overall, but like one of the other reviewers has commented, our experience did not correspond with the strangely excessive positive reviews on here.

The first thing that stood out to me was the bed, incredibly soft and almost too comfortable! I very nearly slept through breakfast, which would’ve been a real shame, because the pancakes were absolutely to die for! light, fluffy, and full of flavor. Definitely worth setting an alarm for! The room itself was cosy and inviting, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The bathroom had a touch of elegance with its old-fashioned, Victorian-style décor, stylish and full of character. But what really made my stay special was the staff. They were not only friendly and approachable, but also genuinely helpful. Their local advice was both welcomed and appreciated, adding a personal touch that made me feel right at home. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. Between the comfort, charm, and outstanding service, it’s a gem. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in town!

Breakfast choice
Damp room, used toiletries left in the room from previous guests. Hairs in the bathroom/ shower.
Blown double glazing, condensation. Ill fitting curtains. Double bed was two singles pushed together, leaving a gap in the middle.

Very welcoming and homely environment. Incredible breakfast choices
Can be a little noisy with traffic. I'm used to the noise, but my partner wasn't.
You can always ask for a room at the back to avoid this

The choice of breakfast was quite good. it was cooked very well. there was a good vegetarian option. Which i enjoyed very much. The bus station and train station were not very far away, great for day trips
I cant think of anything bad to say about Tregarth House.
But do wish there were more places to have an evening meal, within walking distance. lots of pubs, takeaways but not nice restaurants.

The room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, the fruit salad was gorgeous and fresh and there was a lot of choice (including for me and I'm vegan). Steve and Hazel are both lovely and very accommodating allowing us to stow our bags at the beginning and end of our trip. We loved the sunroom with the wee bar area and the terrace in the huge garden with a beautiful view. Plus was really conveniently located for the train station and lots of buses as we did not travel by car.

We had the garden room. It was really big and lovely to have access to the garden in lovely weather. The beds were great, also a big bath and shower with lots of hot water.
The breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented.
Parking too was really easy and on the premises.
The property is great.
Only location - St Austell hasn’t much variety of restaurants due to Covid I am sure. The beach is over 2 miles away.
