About this cottage rental
The "Métairie des Gâcheries" is an estate of 4 warm cottages in a refined and peaceful setting with its remarkable views, surrounded by hills and forests. It is located near Champagne and Fontaine, in a splendid quiet and relaxing countryside of the Périgord Vert. In a large green space, the cottages will seduce you with their comfort and will offer a relaxing stay for the whole family: large secure swimming pool, beautiful spaces with playgrounds.
During the warm summer evenings, you can enjoy your private terrace but also the patio or the raised terrace with its brazier in the inner courtyard.
Bed linen, towels and dish towels are provided. If necessary, a baby bed is offered (on request) and free of charge.
At your disposal, parking, bicycles (including a tandem!), children's games: swing, slide, trampoline + games rooms with ball pool...
Three of the cottages have access for people with reduced mobility, with bedroom and bathroom accessible on the first floor.
A hiking and cycling path borders the property for superb walks. Many visits (caves, castles, truffle or cognac museum, abbeys...) and outdoor activities are nearby (kanoë, lakes, acrobranch...). Cities of art and history such as Brantôme (the Venice of the Périgord), Nontron (capital of the knife), Aubeterre, Villebois-Lavalette, Cognac, Périgueux and Angoulême are nearby. And more than an hour away, Lascaux, Sarlat, La Roche Gageac, Les Eysies, Bergerac...
The cottage "La Tonnellerie", neat decoration, all comfort is equipped with a private terrace, but you can also enjoy the warm atmosphere of the enclosed courtyard with its patio to extend your evenings.
It is fully equipped and has three bedrooms, one of which is on the first floor (accessible to people with reduced mobility, if necessary) composed of two beds/1 place and an adjoining bathroom/toilet, a kitchen with pantry opening onto the living room with wood stove. Upstairs: two bedrooms with exposed beams (1 double bed - 2 beds/1 place) and a bathroom with toilet.
Interior Equipment: Free Wi-Fi, flat screen, DVD player, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, hob-oven, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, clothes dryer...
Bed linen, towels and dish towels, cleaning products provided and rooms prepared on your arrival.
Outdoor facilities: shaded terrace, barbecue, garden furniture, parking, garden, swimming pool with deckchairs, games room with ball pool, swing, trampoline, bicycles (free loan), football field...
Baby Equipment: High chair and folding bed, baby bike seat (on request) free of charge.

Our family had a lovely stay at Métairie des Gâcheries in Champagne-et-Fontaine, France. The property was as described - very pleasant, clean, and good value. The host was lovely and provided excellent communication. We would recommend this property.
