About this cottage rental
A perfect property for families that love the outdoors. Surrounded by the beautiful protected Peel Forest .
A modest but comfortable 1960s 2 bedroom genuine kiwi batch. Charmingly appointed, nice big verandah. Wake up to the chorus of native bird song.
A lovely log fire to keep you warm in winter. A beautiful place to unwind and enjoy nature at its best. An amazing trail right opposite the cottage. Pets welcome. Some cell phones will not work from the cottage but you will get reception if you walk/drive back towards the township. Enjoy the ambience of the local cafe.
The Kowhai river is close by. You can enjoy rafting on the Rangitata, bird watching, fishing, swimming and all outdoor pursuits close by. Geraldine only 20 mins away. Enjoy the Tui, Wood pigeons and Bellbirds whilst having a drink on the covered verandah. The serenity is amazing!
We also ask you to clean and do the dishes before you leave . Thank you.

A classic kiwi bach, tastefully decorated - feels like stepping back in time. A great place to detox from modern living, away from mobile and internet. The fireplace and plenty of wood kept us very comfortable, and it was especially great that we could bring our dog. Peel Forest is a living treasure of ancient trees, and the magnificent Dennistoun Bush walk is right there at the doorstep. We loved our stay

We had a good time at the cottage. The beds are very comfortable and the fire is great. Fridge is very small, other than that everything we need was there.

Lovely place to stay. The birdsong was amazing and our dogs loved it. So peaceful

The double bed we used had serios roll together causing difficulty sleeping. The shower, over the bath was quite dangerous to use and there was numerous trip hazards with varying floor levels & loose mats. The fridge froze our food. We totally accept it was an old, kiwi bach but the price was equal to well appointed motels.
