Superb apartment in Ambleside

Self-catering apartment in superb location for a few days' hill-walking. Apartment was extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The view and the balcony were excellent, although poor weather limited balcony use! On site parking was a real bonus.

Getting that great view comes at the cost of a relatively steep climb up and down to the town. Not a problem at all for us, but it would not suit everyone, unless you take the car, which somewhat defeats the objective.

A really wonderful place for a break.

In a stunning location above the town of Ambleside, this superb apartment is well equipped and comfortable for 2 couples. There were great views, slightly hindered by less-than-clean windows but enhanced by wall-to-wall sunshine during our stay.

Stunning views

Stunning views from every window and the place felt so homely and cosy at night. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need and lots of games and books to keep you occupied. The location was perfect and close to the centre. Really enjoyed our stay and was very sad to leave.

Only downside was there is a very steep hill getting up to the property which was difficult for us as we didn’t take a car and we did find some clothing in the bedroom when we arrived which wasn’t the nicest thing to see but we brushed past this and everything else was clean.

Great apartment in a wonderful location.

Everything was on hand for a home from home with great facilities. Amazing view across Ambleside and of the fells beyond.

Check out is too early at 10 am and there should be clear instructions on how to get the parking permits. They were "hidden" in a cleaning cupboard inside a spare plastic information folder.

Fabulous Apartment, excellent location pity about the management.

The apartment was fabulous with amazing views & is in an excellent location. Plenty sockets, wardrobe space & mirrors in each of the bedrooms. Highly recommended for the fit & able however, due to the apartment being on an incline, it won't suit those with less mobility.

The incorrect key was left in the key safe. 4 of us had to wait in the corridor with all of our belongings for approx an hour for someone to turn up with the correct key. As the apartment was on the 2nd floor & entry to the building was on the 3rd floor, we didn't bother going back to the car as we had too much stuff to carry back & forth & did expect an earlier response. We didn't get into the apartment until way after 4PM which meant we also missed our dinner reservation which was booked for 5PM as we didn't have time to get turned around in time. When we contacted 1 of the numbers provided to advise of the incorrect key, they just didn't seem bothered which is not the kind of service I would expect. There was also no first aid kit available which would have been useful following a member of the party falling & cutting his head.

Excellent spacious apartment with fabulous views over Ambleside. Well appointed and very comfortable

Spacious apartment with good facilities and in a great location for exploring both on foot and by car/public transport. Spectacular views above Ambleside. Access was easy with allocated parking. Footpath from property to centre of Ambleside took 2 minutes. Able to start a number of published walks within minutes from the apartment on foot. Plenty of places to eat/drink within 5 mins walk. The apartment also provided a good selection of books, guides, games etc as well as Wifi, TV etc.

Difficult to find anything not to our liking other than the weather which was mostly wet during our stay. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms very well appointed, clean and modern. Kitchen had all appliances, utensils, cutlery, crockery etc. Everything we needed was available in the apartment.

Cosy flat with a beautiful view!

I loved this flat. I'm really glad that we decided to stay here. We had originally cancelled another place, and I'm glad I found this flat. It was a duplex, with a very cosy living room with a firestick for entertainment, and DVD player. We found the kitchen to have ample space, and we enjoyed meals and drinks on the balcony. The balcony offered a beautiful view of Ambleside and the mountains. I found the bathrooms spacious and modern, and I found the bedroom also spacious and comfy. My only regret was booking 3 nights instead of a long week.

N/A - Only thing that I didn't like a bit was that the location of the flat is on top of the live. Whilst this gives a beautiful view, it was a bit scary driving up a steep hill. Obviously this has nothing to do with the flat in itself, just never driven up a hill that steer before.

Very room and exceedingly comfortable with an amazing range of kitchen utensils and crockery. very thoughtful attention to what guests might want and need. The views are exceptional.
