Electric charging point. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Old Farm is a stunning Barn conversion in Southwood, just outside of Glastonbury. Converted to an extremely high standard in 2021, it’s the perfect base from which to explore Somerset. Drive past the orchard and enter through the gates into your private driveway where Old Farm awaits you, through the large Oak front door the bright and airy living space opens in front of you to welcome you in. The central open plan living space has beautiful large doors opening to the garden, a wood burner for those cosy evenings and sumptuous furnishings to allow you to relax into whilst watching TV or chilling with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine as well as everything else you will need to whip up a fantastic dinner or just a simple breakfast. There is also a sitting room with large floor to ceiling windows, you can also sleep up to two extra guests on the sofa bed in here. Off the open plan living area you will find the fabulous bedrooms, both have double beds, hairdryers and en-suite bathrooms. Outside you have your private garden, with outdoor seating area and fantastic views across the fields.
There are fabulous walks in all directions that can be taken from the doorstep, whilst the towns of Glastonbury and Street are just under 15 minutes drive away. Glastonbury, famous for its festival and ancient legends, has a great mix of eclectic shops and larger stores whilst Street is well known for its outlet shopping centre, Clarks Village, where designer bargains are to be found! Within an hour’s drive you have a wealth of National Trust properties to explore as well as fun days out at the likes of Longleat and Haynes Motor Museum.

Old Farm does not disappoint. The wonderful experience begins even before you set off. The owner, Steve, reaches out to check how you want the cottage prepared (two singles or a super king bed, etc). He then said they like to leave a local welcome pack and checked for food allergies (great as we all have the same one!), just excellent service.We arrived little late as there are two Old Farms near to each other but we rang Steve and he directed us in. Our welcome was so warm and friendly and Steve showed us around and pointed out the very generous welcome pack. Amazing and all gluten free!The house was perfect for our Birthday celebrations and beautifully appointed. Fit and finish or everything is to a very high standard.In summary, if I could give Steve and the cottage 10 stars I would, as a host he went the extra mile, attentive yet not intrusive…..even popping in some locally baked gluten free shortbreads from the local deli….delicious by the way!!Amazing stay, just book it, you won’t be disappointed!

Really top notch spacious and interesting conversion with quality fixtures and fittings. Beds were very comfortable. Brilliant wood burner. Setting is incredibly peaceful without being too far from many interesting locations. Host is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Layout with the bedrooms at each end of the cottage provides a good level of privacy. Brilliant to have an EV charger too.

Fabulous converted barn in a wonderfully peaceful location. The property was spotlessly clean and all fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The barn felt very luxurious! Steve was a lovely host, attentive without being intrusive. He was super helpful when we had vehicle problems that led to us having a delayed departure while we waited for a recovery truck.The welcome pack was just that! Very welcome and a thoughtful touch that made us feel valued.We'll definitely be back!
