This is just the place for people looking to get away and experience country style living. Beautiful home and artwork throughout kept my teenagers busy and off their phones! Such a lovely spot thank you to the friendly host.

Our stay at Farm to Folklore was a mixed bag. The home is lovely and the artwork and themes of the rooms were super fun and creative on many levels. The temps while we were there (and visiting the amusement park about 20 minutes away called Indiana Beach) were extreme, high 90's with a heat index over 105! The two window AC units (one on the upper floor in one bedroom, one on the lower floor in one bedroom) didn't keep the house very cool. We made it through though! We were told that there was a spring fed pond on the property, but the only water there, was covered in green algae and was not fresh whatsoever. The horses on the property were quite sweet, and every now and then we were able to pet one of the cats that lounged around. The grounds were quite overgrown but still had many trails to explore. I was hoping to have a washer/dryer there, but that wasn't the case. The only other thing missing from our stay would be a microwave. We enjoy reheating food for lunch etc and weren't able to do that. Not the end of the world, but it was something that we missed. We did have an issue with a fallen tree branch on a vehicle, but we are hopeful that we'll be able to remedy that with the owners. Even with the differences from what I'm used to getting from a VRBO rental, I would still say a stay at Farm to Folklore is worth it, just manage your expectations, and come understanding what you're getting...and then I have a feeling the house and its artistry will be worth it.

This well preserved and adorable home was a truly peaceful nook in the country! Sooooo much character and attention to detail to create a unique space within the house and on the farm. Simplicity and folklore live here!!

This is no cookie cutter VRBO! A comfortable — not posh — restored farmhouse where every room has its own “vibe.” A perfect getaway location to unplug and unwind. And while there are a few “attractions” and restaurants within a 30 minute drive, you’re booking this house to just relax and be with family. Additionally, there are miles of trails through woods and fields. Ideal for birding! We didn’t realize when we booked that this is a working farm, and the owners live onsite (but in separate dwellings, not in the rental). So there was quick response for any last minute questions, and we had a few nice conversations with the owners when we “bumped” into them on our hikes around the property. While we didn’t take advantage of the offers, we understand that you can also request some “farm” experiences from the owners (horses grooming, etc.). I grew up on a farm, so I was good with not adding those experiences to our weekend. But someone from an urban environment might enjoy tweaking the experience with some “farming “ stuff. The only caution I would add is the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are a bit steep and might be a concern with people who have very small children or mobility issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our family weekend away at this very unique property

This house and property was an amazing experience we will never forget. The imaginative and whimsical decorations in this farmhouse are so creative. If you are a lover of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Dungeons and Dragons, this is the place for you. It was a truly special experience. The farmhouse also sits on many forested acres filled with hiking trails and other surprises. Several horses, chickens, geese and ducks also are kept here. This place was so much fun!

We needed a place for 4-6 of us to stay for an event in Delphi at the Opera House. All the B&B's in town were taken, so we opted for the Farm to Folklore! Lovely spot, enjoyed the land and animals. The kitchen was the only area we could have used a bit more conveniences. Coffeemaker and microwave for a larger group would have been welcome. Loved all the books; I'm a retired librarian, LOL! Summer will be glorious here...

Nice farm house, old but very well decorated. Plenty of board games, books. Very quiet, and great outdoor options.

We spent a weekend here with our friends and adult children. The house is eclectic, funky, and fun, and delightfully full of great books. The grounds are beautiful, and the hosts were very helpful and delightful to talk to. Don't know when we'll be back in the area, but we would definitely stay again!

My husband, dog and I stayed for one night to get away from the city. Very cute ambiance and we loved that they had a piano to play. A little cold still during the winter despite all the space heaters available. Wish to visit again in the future to explore the grounds a bit more. Worth the visit and stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse!! Our two dogs loved walking the trails, exploring the many magical places along the way!! It was so quiet, and the nights were lit up by hundreds of fireflies!!! On the warm days/nights the two window air conditioners helped a lot, they were in two rooms so that’s where we would go if we needed to cool off.We loved all the spaces to relax and read, play games or just visit!! We visited horse and ponies daily!! If you love nature there is so much to explore. It also was a short trip to town, but we just loved being at the farm with it’s serenity! Thank you for a wonderful stay!! Would definitely return!!

My entire family enjoyed our weekend in the farm house as part of our adventure to see the eclipse. The kids loved the horses and the chickens. There were 9 of us (counting 2 small children), and we were very comfortable in the space.

The property was great for our group and the owners were very easy to deal with. The house was charmingly eclectic and our kids loved it. It's out in the country, so it was very peaceful. We would definitely stay again if we're in the area. Thank you Emma!

The place was absolutely adorable - you could see how much love and care they put into every detail of their decorations. The horses and cats were so great! And the drive to Indiana Beach was a breeze. Only downside was no central AC which was pretty rough at night, but we spent the day away from the house which made it tolerable. They provided fans which helped a ton.
Overall would return back, but maybe in the cooler months :)

I chose this property because it was very close to Indiana beach. When I tell you my family was more excited about this home and property than Indiana beach, I mean it! There was so much to do at the house alone, and all of my brothers loved it. I couldn’t have picked a much better stay. 100/10 recommend. And yes, I meant 100 out of 10.

I’ll review this property based on a wonderful experience., but there is things you need to know. It’s not criticism, it’s information for your visit, which I encourage you to take. We spent Thanksgiving here.
Emma and Angela were excellent hosts. The trails, horses, and decorations made the weekend.
Okay city folk, if you don’t know how to work a wood stove, figure that out before you get here. That is the main heat in the house. There are electric heaters in the bathroom and bedrooms on the 2nd floor, but you will need the wood stove.
If you plan on cooking here is information you’ll need. The pictures of the kitchen showed an old style white gas range which I was excited to cook Thanksgiving dinner on, it was decoration. The actual stove was a tiny range the size of an RV range as is the refrigerator. There is a convection toaster oven.
Bring your own cookware. Cookware provided consists of 3 fry pans and a 2 quart sauce pan, which were nonstick at one time, but no longer. Good knives. I pulled off dinner by military training. Adapt and overcome. I used every trick I knew. Using all resources, including the Weber charcoal grill at the fire pit.
There is no TV. So I missed the football games, but that’s okay the Lions lost, again. There are games provided, which brings me to the next thing you need to know. The lighting in the dining room is awful. Which isn’t bad except when trying to play Trivial Pursuit. We had to use the flashlight on our phones to read the cards. The WiFi is passable.
Bring apples and carrots for the horses and cracked corn for the ducks. They are delightful.
In the area. The Oakdale Bar and Grill is great. Kroger and Pizza Hut are in Monticello, IN, 18 minutes away. Tippecanoe Battlefield is 30 minutes as is the Wolf Park.

Beautiful historic farm house, just as listed- we had so much gun exploring the space and sitting around the wood stove playing games with friends and reading! Very cozy, wonderful recharge.

Our family loved just walking around the property. Ponies, cats, ducks, and geese— all were a hit with our group!

There was no air except one room, which I knew at booking but didn’t think it would be that hot.
Very musty smelling, cobwebs and spiders.
I took my mom here for her birthday, but she
just could not relax or feel comfortable here.
We also were excited to take our dog,
who is 120#’s and he could not handle the heat and wouldn’t settle at all.
My grandson who is 11 months was hot and irritable.
I just feel this property was not a fit for us, and
We ended up leaving after an hour.
The horses were sweet and so were the kitties.
The host was also very nice.

We enjoyed using the canoe and fishing in the pond - caught a lot of fish. Also enjoyed riding the bikes and going thru the trails. Very enjoyable weekend with my sons. Plenty of sleeping room for everyone. Close to town if anything was needed. Would stay again.

We had a fantastic stay! We were only there for a night, but the owners made us feel welcome right away. The house had plenty of room and there was so much to see on the property! We loved visiting the horses! The house has so many creative and magical touches - we could have perused the bookshelves all night long!

A wonderful space to recharge in nature and the house is a time hop to another era. The hard working hosts who are actively running the farm always made time to address any questions or needs. And even took time out of their busy day to give us a tour of all the flora and fauna. LOVED IT!!

It was a beautiful rustic well taken care of property. My daughters really liked the Harry Potter theme closet under the stairs. Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the grounds, but we were able to enjoy petting the horses and watching the ducklings. The hostess introduced herself when we pulled up the driveway and she was very friendly and personable. When we’re back in the area, we’ll be looking forward to staying again.

This house is amazing. Authentic 100+ year old house. So many rooms. Hosts were so nice. They checked in on us and were friendly but weren't overbearing. They genuinely wanted to share their beautiful property. Making friends with the horses was my favorite part. Walking through the woods was so peaceful and relaxing. Other than a few cars during the day there was no noise from the outside world, which is exactly what I wanted. Delphi and Monticello were only 15 minutes away with lots of unique places to get food. Hope to visit again.

Nice family getaway.
Nice family getaway.
Host was excellent and responsive. Beautiful property surrounded by corn field on one side and forest on the other. Hiking trial on property through the woods and around the pond. Beautiful horses. We had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. It is only a short drive to Monticello and Delphi for good restaurants and activities.
