About this house rental

Lake front property on Lake Shafer. this home has 120 feet of lake front. great place to swim and dock your boat. Home has two large patios one with a outdoor fireplace and the other a great place for sun tanning. Both overlooking the lake. Imagine relaxing on the patio drinking your beverage and eating your favorite grilled masterpiece while watching the sun set in the distance over the lake.

Inside you have three nice size bedrooms two with queen beds and one with a king bed with its own bathroom. you also have a pull out couch that will sleep two nicely and an additional couch that is awesome to sleep on. there is also a love seat that a small child could sleep on also.

Family room has 42 in tv over the top of the fire place with a surround sound and dvd player.

Very nice full kitchen with all the items needed to cook the dinner of your choice also a gas grill just outside on the patio. diswasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker

Lake front property on Lake Shafer. this home has 120 feet of lake front. great place to swim and dock your boat. This was a pretty nice house, not exactly ‘ newly’ renovated but still ok. Furniture in the living area needs replaced badly but the beds we’re comfortable and you are really paying for the lake access. AC worked hard but it was an exceptionally hot week. View is great. The water in the house does have an odor and directions to place the bedding would be nice also directions on how to work the shower in the bathroom with the bathtub. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.

This was advertised as sleeping 9. It does not. It is a lake cottage of modest size. Even with five adults you would be bumping elbows. No dressers in any bedroom, but there are closets. No laundry machines. Two 12” pantry shelves to fit your kitchen supplies or food. All other cabinets stuffed with mismatched cookware, plates & drinkware. Deck was nice but all furniture well covered in bird droppings that were not recent. I spent first morning of vacation going to Walmart 25 mins away to buy a bucket & scrub brush to clean deck furniture. Owner responded with a skeptical “sorry” 4 days later.Food crumbs & popcorn in creases of couches. Floors dirty. Not what you expect given steep cleaning fee.

Good layout inside and back decks were nice. But there is no curb appeal and when you shower smells like rotten eggs not sure if that is from well water. Was not mentioned on the website. Nice drive from Purdue University but longer than expected all back roads.

This property is just as advertised. The owner was very responsive and the house was very clean. It was just off the main lake in a channel and very quiet. My dad was able to easily tie his boat up without any issues after launching at the marina. It really was a great little place that allowed me to stay while I was back home visiting family.

The only thing I will add to future renters is the beware of a lot of poison ivy on the hill behind house and if you like to do night fishing there are no lights by the water so bring your own lights. If renters need firewood the closet gas station does have some. I will definitely rent again!

We rented this lake home for a get away with friends. The inside had been renovated, was comfortable and had many cooking extras like spices, and oil. The outside has two decks overlooking the water. Both need some updating and repairs, but are certainly good places to have a fire and watch the beautiful Lake Shafer sunsets. Lots of pictures were taken!

Best AC. Beautiful sunny fall days. Outside deck areas are fabulous. New patio furniture & grill. Very comfortable beds. Cleanest VRBO or rental we’ve ever stayed at. Requested late check out and it was awesome! Local food places had great food. Must try the Oak and Barrel. 110% recommend. Will definitely return. Great weekend!
