Located right in the heart of downtown, our house is on a street once referred to as “Mistress Row” or “Rotten Row,” due to it's reputation for housing J.P Morgan’s mistresses while his yacht was anchored in town. It is a peaceful residential street, but is within a few blocks of all of the hustle and bustle of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, whale watching, shopping grocery stores and more.
Within three blocks are an organic grocery store- A&B Naturals and Hannaford's (large chain grocery store) with everything you could need for your stay. This is the perfect location if you want to do most of your sight-seeing by foot, as you can easily leave your car and either walk to destinations or walk to a shuttle stop to visit points further out.
The location is perfect for walking to explore downtown. Everything Bar Harbor offers that is accessible by foot is within about 0.5 miles/1 km from the house.
The Island Explorer is a free shuttle run by L.L. Bean that has stops located at multiple areas in Acadia National Park and also Bar Harbor, including a stop at the Village Green (approximately 5 min walk from the house).
