The lift was not working but that is not the owners fault.

This was in a very good location - not far to walk to town through the narrow lanes or to the station for arriving/leaving was also possible if you did not have too much luggage. The apartment was spacious and quite well-equipped for cooking etc. Nicely decorated in an authentic homely kind of style.

The only real problem we had was that there was a terrible smell of blocked drains in the apartment - coming from the bathroom. The owners/managers were obviously aware of this because they had put plugs in all of the sinks and the bath in the hope that the smell would not fill the apartment and they had deployed the strongest, most sickly-smelling perfume diffuser that they could find. However, the place still had a really bad, strong smell of blocked drains and the sickly smelling air freshener only made it worse. We had to leave the bathroom door tightly closed at all times, we had to put the air freshener diffuser outside as it was making the smell more nauseating. We were very close to asking for a refund and trying to move somewhere else but did not have the energy to do so. If our stay had been longer than a couple of nights we would have definitely had to leave. So, hopefully this has now been rectified.
