Hadn’t stayed at The Hammer and Pincers before and were so impressed we’d love to visit again.

Our suite was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The staff were lovely and the food was outstanding.

Fantastic stay, would come again with no hesitation

The Staff were excellent from the owner to the waiting-on staff. Very attentive without being obsequious. The food was superb. The room was clean and comfortable.

This is not a complaint, only an observation. There was a smell coming from the shower drain. We had a cooked breakfast for which we had to choose the night before - this was not strictly adhered to ie no fried bread, no vine tomatoes and my wife was given beans when she had not wanted them. That being said, they do not normally do cooked breakfast on a Sunday and did this as a favour- for which we were grateful. Again, these are not complaints only observations.

Perfect location to try the tasting menu and won’t flyte at the restaurant below. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Excellent place to stay, rural location - watch for later check-in on Tuesdays

Lovely location, very high quality fixtures and fittings. Nespresso machine in the room. A fridge with two carafes of water and even a little gift back of hand made chocolates. Amazing shower / bathroom. Once everyone was gone from the pub, and the lights went out it was easy to drift off. Very safe area. Church bells marking time were a lovely sound to hear, albeit rarer these days.

Tuesday check-in is not available until 18:30. Booking.com said 14:30 so I ended up with 4 hours to burn and as the village has average to poor mobile signal I had to leave the area and come back later. This is NOT the fault of the accommodation but BOOKING.COM as they do not allow variable check-in times on their platform. The room was directly above the restaurant so until the last patron leaves you have either music or voices drifting up to you. The TV signal is poor, mostly unwatchable - it couldn't even deliver BBC2 without warbling audio or frames dropping. Disappointed to find sour milk in the fridge in the morning. A lesson learned, in future i'll check it when I arrive.

Amazing stay

Stayed here with my mum for 2 nights we had a wedding in the area . Hotel was close to the venue . Great hotel we had an Amazing meal night before wedding in the restaurant definitely recommend very special and all very well presented with delightful staff .. Are room was very spacious and on 2 levels . Great shower And to top it off the most Amazing well presented with delightful Breakfast was all wonderful thank you all so much Debra foster .

Fabulous evening.

This was our second visit chosing once again to stay overnight at the location and once again the evening did not disappoint. Room is clean and has everything you need for an overnight stay. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was fabulous and cooked expertly.

Having booked following a previous visit we were a little dissapointed to be told that full english breakfast could not be offered with continental being the only option albeit free of charge. The breakfast was part of the whole experience and fully welcomed the following morning having consumed a few glasses of alchol. Not every course is to everyones personnal choice but the ingredients are top quality.

Mediocre at best.

The bathroom was a good size and plenty of towels and toiletries supplied if required. Bed was comfortable. Good selection of teas and coffee. Both still and sparkling water in the fridge along with fresh milk. Complimentary chocolates were also a nice touch. The staff were more than helpful and very pleasant.

Unfortunately only continental breakfast was available on the Sunday and it was delivered to the room the night before. The fruit therefore had run into the yogurt leaving a liquid residue on the top and it did state pain at choc and croissants and only croissants were delivered. Fortunately we weren't charged for it as it was offered free of charge as way of apology for no cooked breakfast being available. The light in the bathroom works on a sensor which goes off various times if you are in the shower so you have to wave your arm outside the shower to turn it back on. Frustrating! Also everytime the front door was opened at the bottom of the stairs it caused our room door to bang. The fan whilst was a nice idea didn't push out any cool air that you could feel. Infact it looked very old and worn. Maybe time for them to update. For £110 for one night we really did expect better.

Beautiful room very comfy bed room was a little hot even with fan so had to open windows but on main road so was quite a lot of traffic noise. Shower was fab and so too the complimentary toiletries really pleasant stay would recommend

We had a wonderful experience at the Hammer and Pincers. All staff were super friendly and helpful, and even offered a one night free upgrade, which was amazing. Food was excellent in particulalr the breakfast! Will defo be coming back .

Fantastic room and great service

The room was immaculate, spacious and warm. Beautifully decorated with all the facilities. Shower was nice and large with a really powerful water supply (I am not a small person). Breakfast was great, and they couldn’t do enough for me. If ever I am staying in this area again in the future, this will be my first port of call when booking a room.

My favourite place to stay

Although the two rooms here are comfortable we stay here because the food, staff and ambience are excellent. We stay here as often as travel allows and is perhaps my favourite place to stay in the UK. The dining experience is excellent - the food is imaginative and well presented.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience

The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and the decor both tasteful and finished to a high standard - the little touches like a welcome letter demonstrated some care and consideration had gone into making you feel welcome. The restaurant was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the presentation of the dishes, brought to the table by the chef [and I believe owner], a thoroughly enjoyable experience and evening. I would add though that it isn't the place to eat if you're looking for pub fayre or even a typical restaurant. Whilst a little pricier than I was anticipating, [£65 for 3 courses on a set menu], though would add well worth it given the quality of the food], I'd certainly recommend trying this out - and forewarned is forearmed. That said if you don't fancy this and on a more restricted budget, there is a pub a few hundred yards [I think] down the road which does food. I'd taken my daughter to start at the university and if she settles in there and stays the course [pun intended] I anticipate visiting Loughborough and the area regularly over the next 3-4 years and this will definitely be on the list to re-visit.

A perfect little escape!

A welcome and comfortable break with excellent meals after a busy couple of days.

Unique accommodation (Forest room) and restaurant. Comfortable room and en suite facilities. Evening menu options, "different" amuse bouches and tasty, visually artistic blends of flavours served pleasantly and without undue haste. Choice of breakfasts possible to see and order the night before.

A hook (back of bathroom door?) would have been useful to hang clothes whilst showering. Not possible to open window in bedroom for fresh air as blind was down and not functional. No draught beer on tap (due to imminent building works)

Absokute get of a place. Great food, Beautiful room, Super friendly and welcoming staff.

My wife and I are glad we found this gem of an establishment. From the moment we arrived, a friendly lady welcomed us in and showed us to our room. We stayed in the Forest room which was beautifully decorated. Lovely touches such as Mini fridge with water, Milk, and Nespresso machine. Breakfast was first class and delicious. Warm welcome in the morning in the restaurant by the friendly Danny, who served a generous portioned full English with fresh coffee. Highly recommend staying here and plan to return again in the future.

the room at the Hammer and Pincers was beautiful, carefully designed to give you everything you need I met the owner at breakfast and shared the addition of a magnifying Mirror for aging eyes that need help when applying make up would be welcomed by those needing it, otherwise for someone needing to stay over for work or leisure this is a lovely location and offers the most amazing menu

the property was exceptional, as a female solo traveller the option of a small bar menu that allows food to be eaten in the room is a personal feature that I look for, I appreciate the type of customer to this property might not justify this request
