Casa Jaguar Hotel Boutique

The hotel is very cozy and surprisingly quiet, considering the location. The street it’s on has a relatively busy road on one end, and a popular park on the other end, but there in the center of the street is Casa Jaguar, a sweet little oasis. The walled city is just a few minutes walk in one direction, and the heart of Getsemani just a few paces in the other direction. The room was small, basic, but very clean and comfortable. There’s no closet but I didn’t miss it, there was shelving and cubbies that fit all of my things. Just outside of my room was the plunge pool and it provided a lovely view and the perfect spot to cool off after a day touring outdoors. I liked the sound of the water from the fountain and the birds attracted to the tree in the courtyard. Lots of natural light in the room but not too much to escape in the morning. Sra Leydy and Yessica made me feel so welcome, it was like I was invited, and coming to visit extended family. Very attentive but not intrusive. I slept soundly each night. And the breakfast? Muah. This was my favorite stay on this trip and I would definitely return.

I had zero complaints, but if space to frolic inside of your room is a priority, this might be a challenge.

Casa Jaguar is a lovely property. I travelled with a friend and we had separate rooms. There are some elements of our stay that really stood out. The first was the team at Casa Jaguar, in particular the glorious Jessica, who made our stay so fun and enjoyable. Jessica greeted us like old friends each time we entered the property. We felt so welcomed and cared for and were genuinely sad to leave as it was a special experience. The location is amazing, we walked everywhere and despite proximity to restaurants, bars and clubs, it was relatively quiet. The food and drinks here were fabulous too - the best breakfast we had in Colombia! The rooms are decorated in a calming palette, are well appointed with little extras that aren't common in Colombian hotels (ear plugs, jugs of filtered water, body wash, hairdryer), the beds are very comfortable and rooms were exceptionally clean. I would absolutely stay again.

There is an issue with mosquitos at the property, we had to douse ourselves in bug spray at all times, I am not sure if there's something that can be done to better manage this for guest comfort. On one night there was a lot of noise from whoever was cleaning the property. These are trivial matters overall.

Location and breakfast

All rooms are with the door opening in the courtyard so you could hear everything and for the same reason you cant'open the shutters so you have a dark and not ventilated room. Also the bathroom has no ventilation and window.

Staff was so nice and breakfast was amazing! Little courtyard pool was great for cooling off too
