Fabulous location and stunning views. Wonderful spacious place and gorgeous garden - so quiet you can really appreciate the beautiful bird song. Loved the living room and being in an old chapel. The fairy lights and outside lights were a lovely touch. Fabulous real wood dining table and kitchen had everything we needed for four (so long as you immediately washed the teaspoons!) - including teapots and cafetiere. Velux windows in bedrooms and blackout shutters worked better than any I've used anywhere else in hotels or airbnbs, and heating really easy to work. Hot water is great but takes a while to run through, so expect a wait for any room except the kitchen. Log burner is a nice touch - note it's a simple model, you need skills as the draw is interesting. Hence the mild woodsmoke scent when you arrive from lighting with burner door open (no exterior vent or damper). There are plenty of walks on the doorstep. Go down the lane 3 minutes to the unmarked carpark and the public footpath opposite takes you up onto the ridge - this runs over several summits all the way to Pen y Fan, with the option to loop back down the other side of the reservoir. It's a proper day walk if you go up the full mountain at around 16-24km, depending on your route. The Brecon Mountain Railway top platform at Torpantau is also 5 mins drive along the lane, or the mid station at Pontsticill (cafe and toilets) 5 mins the opposite way further down. If you continue up past Torpantau, you'll pass wild ponies and sheep grazing the common before reaching the upper and lower carparks for the stunning 7 waterfall loop walk. Booking tip: Be aware that the hosts' booking integration system can handle everything via booking.com except the lockbox code - this is a known issue, so just ring the host directly. They were really helpful when we called. Navigation tip: Check your access route in advance.
Old converted Chapel building with seriously creaky upstairs floor. It's worth noting and possibly part of the charm. The boiler/shower is rather noisy, so we avoided early and late showers out of consideration for the rest of our party. More noticeable in the living room/games room below than the bedrooms. Noisy pipework means noisy toilet flush too. Other than that, genuinely the most peaceful place we've stayed. (Note - I'm highly noise sensitive so flagging for anyone else who is - earplugs sorted it fine for night-time!) The picnic table has seen better days, and the lichen makes the surface rough - worth bringing a picnic blanket for the benches and tablecloth to cover the tabletop to protect clothes from snagging. June-August: By the reservoir with a pond in the garden, you're in nature and perfect environment for midges, apparently with a nice note for windows. Coming mid summer, you may want repellant or off-label Avon Skin-so-soft (see Avon reviews for precise product is my top walkers tip from Scotland). Early May not anything in site! Note Orange interiors aren't mine if booking.com keeps them!? Odd

Spacious and comfortable this is a very relaxed place with lovely features like the stained glass, mezzanine style stairs and log burner and it's in beautiful and historic surroundings. It's ideal for a large family group and has excellent kitchen facilities and room for kids to play.
Nothing to do with the hosts or the property, I felt a little bombarded by emails in weeks before the stay but then didn't receive the key box code, the one email that I actually needed. This was no problem though as contacted the owners and they provided it very quickly.

Lovely property in the beautiful valley. Charming chapel. Great walls and scenery nearby and the view from the bedroom and garden is spectacular.
It used to have a hot tub which was great. Note that that is gone I’d say it’s a bit expensive for what it is.

Location Facilities were very clean and homely
The WiFi is very poor on the TV There were great options for Netflix and other apps but sadly there were previous occupiers who had signed in and not signed out and so it was very difficult to use but for those we did use the WiFi was very very poor - this should be fixed
