On arrival we were concerned because the place was poorly lit and the reception we received from the young lady was not enthusiastic.
However the room had everything we required and the bed and pillow were comfortable. Dining in was a bit of a nightmare as we had to wait for nearly 11/2 hrs, yes 90 mins, for our food to arrive after ordering and sitting at the table. Having said that it was excellent when it was served.
The highlight was definitely Rob Ellis who was brilliant and kept us amused for hours.
Breakfast was simple but as expected for complimentary.
Receptionist needs some training on dealing with people, especially customers who can write reviews.
Food situation needs improvement. If there was anywhere else decent available and it hadn’t been raining we would have gone. Several people came in and walked out after waiting.
I appreciate the building is dated and kept in the original style but a good clean and a bit of paint wouldn’t go amiss. Dining room chandelier had 2 out of 5 or 6 bulbs out making it especially dingy.

The home is quaint and comfortable. Maggie, the staff member who checked us in and made sure we were comfortable was great. There was a pianist in the common room in the evening for entertainment.
The thermostat was never able to raise the temp in the room above 70 degrees.

Location was convenient.
Mediocre care of the property.

The bed was comfy and clean white sheets. Architecture in the old house was pretty. Quiet for sleeping was good. Bathroom was clean although across the hall.
Seemed like it was stuck in time, like decor was mix of antique days and also 1980s. Looked tired and could use a good cleaning out of some the clutter. Just felt off in many ways, and while the bed itself was very nice, there was not the relaxation factor we look for in a nice BnB. Owner now has for sale sign in yard and think it is time for new looks there.

"Everything. The room was spacious and had so much room to roam. Was allowed to bring my humans with me. I let them sleep on the bed and I slept on the floor. The smells of the property were exquisite...."
