Lobos Flat

Everything about the property was up to the mark. Exceeded our expectations. Right from liaising with the host till the time we checked out, everything was perfect.

It's just the noise from the road at night time. No matter which bedroom you choose to sleep from there is either traffic noise or from the people on the road. But once you get used to it, it's absolutely fine. It's not a criticism but something people should be aware of when booking the flat.

Het appartement bevindt zich midden in het centrum van Camara de Lobos en is ruim, schoon en zeer compleet. Onder het appartement is er een supermarkt en restaurants en cafés zijn op een steenworp afstand. We hebben een goed verblijf gehad!

Misschien was het handig geweest om wat informatie over de mogelijkheden van parkeren te delen. Zo kan er in de omgeving op zaterdag (vanaf 14:00 uur?) en op zondag gratis worden geparkeerd, maar moet je op andere momenten overdag wel betalen. Wellicht zijn er nog gratis of goedkopere parkeergelegenheden in de buurt, maar daar zijn we zelf niet naar op zoek gegaan.

This is a very good property located in the heart of Camara de Lobos. The property is equipped with everything one needs. I stayed there the last times I have been to Madeira and will be staying there when I am back again. The views are so beautiful. Totally recommended.

Madeira is an incredible destination and exceeded all of our expectations. The apartment is located on the main street of Câmara de Lobos. We were fully aware of that when making the reservation and had no issue with staying in a central location. In fact, the location is excellent, with a supermarket on the ground floor and plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

However, what was never mentioned in the listing was that there is a taxi rank directly beneath the apartment windows. We fully expected some level of noise from staying on the main street, but we did not expect a taxi rank immediately below our windows or windows with virtually no sound insulation. Throughout the day and late into the night, taxi drivers waited there with their engines running, frequently smoking cigarettes while passengers came and went. In addition, the apartment was constantly exposed to the heavy traffic on the main road. As a result, we had to deal with continuous traffic noise, the smell of exhaust fumes from the steady flow of passing vehicles, and cigarette smoke drifting into the apartment. Even with every window tightly closed, it genuinely felt as though they were still open because the windows provide almost no sound insulation. Sleeping well was simply not possible. Had this information been clearly disclosed in the listing, we would never have booked this apartment. The apartment itself is spacious, offering three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an additional toilet downstairs, and two balconies. Unfortunately, the standard of cleanliness was well below acceptable. After arriving late at night following a long journey, I had to replace the bed linen myself because the bedding on our bed had clearly not been changed. There were long black hairs on the sheets (visible in the photos). The towels also had an unpleasant odour and did not feel freshly laundered. Fortunately, we found clean bed linen and fresh towels stored in the wardrobe. The floors throughout the apartment were also unacceptable. They appeared to have been swept or vacuumed but had clearly not been washed for a considerable time. After walking barefoot for only a short while, my white socks became completely black, and I had no choice but to throw them away. Both bathtub drains were partially blocked, causing the water to drain very slowly every time we showered.
