The Physicians House

Beautiful, well-equipped house in a central location, perfect for exploring Northumberland. The house had excellent facilities, including a bar and cinema room, and the flowers and a hamper on arrival made us feel very welcome :-)

Traffic from the road could be noisy. Didn’t spoil our stay though.

The check in process is quite easy. The key was located in the key safe to pick up which is quite useful as I thought that we might need to wait for someone to give us the key at first. The house itself is marvellous and very spacious. All the rooms are clean and equipped with smart TV which suits all of us who at times prefer to watch something on our own leisure time. The house is quite near to the town which is handy as everything is within the walking distance. Alnwick Castle and Barter Books are only less than 5mins walk from the house. Initially, we thought the Parking is an issue as we are a large group of people( more than 1 car) but Alison and David provide us with some spaces to park after arranging it with the nearby hotel (The Plough) which is very thoughtful of them ( Its free!). Nothing to worry as the hotel is only within a short walking distance from the house, hence why this place is such a great bargain. The host also gives us £20 voucher for the meal at the same hotel as part of the welcoming gift.( Yay!) The cinema room was brilliant as well as we can choose multiple selection of movies from Netflix, Apple TV and Disney+ (All included with the house). We are also being provided with the xbox which makes some of us super happy !. The wifi was super fast in every room- no issues at all despite this is 3-4 floor houses. Overall, it is such a great place to stay if you are planning to come to Alnwick. More than happy to recommend this to others to enjoy the facilities. Definitely worth the money. Alison and David have been a great host to us by always ensuring that we are having a nice stay before our arrival and during our stay. Will definitely come back!

The only issue is the front door lock where it can be quite difficult to manoeuvre at times. However, after informing the Alison and David about it, they took a proactive approach to replace them right away after we left the house which is very good. Hopefully this will not be an issue for future guests.
