Sandy Beach: 3 BR, 3 BA House in St. George Island, Sleeps 8

Check in was pleasant, but restricted to business was hours without an extra fee. The house was roomy and clean for our family. The washer and dryer are in a small out building, not within the residence. But still not a huge inconvenience. Plenty of parking and amazing g beach access right off the deck. Overall a great stay.

And just FYI we were sitting on the swing one night & felt a huge vibration & a loud cracking sound. We got up to investigate & it looks like maybe the posts on the patio might need replacing. These are not complaints just observations.Oaur stay was wonderful! Love, love, love not carrying luggage up stairs. I am interested in Martini Del Mar as well. Does the exterior lift work?

Reviewer Comments: This house has so much potential that is being left on the ground. The location is absolutely fantastic, and the house has a lot of space for a large family! I love that it is right on the beach, and the windows make for a fantastic view. However, the house is very poorly maintained. We stayed in this house last year as well, and all of the issues we had and reported last year (and were told would be fixed) are still current issues. One of the sliding glass doors doesn’t work at all, the other is extremely difficult to open and close and comes off track easily. There are no curtains or blinds on the large sliding glass doors that face the beach, so during turtle season you are either forced to live in darkness once the sun goes down, or run the risk of endangering the turtle nests outside (of which there are FOUR directly behind the house this year). The outdoor spigot/shower leaks inside the wall (you can hear it at all times). The front screen door’s spring is so tight, the door has busted and it will slap you in the back real hard if you don’t watch it. When it rains, a LOT of water seeps in to the double bedroom, either through the window or just through the wall, I’m not sure. The beds and furniture in there are warped from getting wet so often. And because they put bed skirts on the bed, the first time it rained, the water pooled up so high it got the bed skirt wet and then the water climbed up the bed to get the bed sheets and mattress wet. Garbage disposal did not work, and the switch for the garbage disposal is in a very dangerous spot to begin with. Cabinet doors are falling off. There are multiple places on the porch and under the carport that are rotting and look on the verge of falling in. The water hose for the outdoor spigot is probably as old as me and is hardly functional.
