Inside you will find the cathedral ceiling in the open great room complete with wood burning stone fireplace and a view to the loft. Large windows in the main living area offer a fabulous view of the mountains. The fully equipped kitchen with Keurig coffeemaker includes an open area with breakfast bar and dining table. You can also curl up on the big comfy sofa in front of the fireplace. Also on the main level is a master queen bedroom, master bathroom, and laundry room.
The upstairs level boasts a large open loft with a pullout queen sofa bed. Also, upstairs you will find a second queen bedroom and full bathroom. Downstairs below the main level is a family room and additional bedroom with two double beds and full bath, making this a full bath on each floor. This beautiful home comes equipped with central heat and A/C, Wi-Fi, 2 Smart TVs with 5 cable hookups on all three floors.
From the highway take two well-paved roads up to the 1/2-mile gravel road with easy access and moderate climb. We do experience seasonal inclement weather in this region. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and/or snow tire chains would be required in winter weather events.
Please note this is a dog friendly property. It is the guest's responsibility to contact the property manager at Maggie Mountain Vacations as there is an additional non-refundable per pet fee, not included in the base rent. There are restrictions to weight and number of dogs allowed. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. No cats or other types of pets allowed. Go outside and visit our deer around 8-9am or 4-5 pm. We have a salt block just beyond the fence!
There is so much to do around this vacation home all year-round. Only a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel’s “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in downtown Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Don’t forget nearby Lake Junaluska has fishing, canoeing and a beautiful walking path surrounding the lake.
This home is less than a 30-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah’s Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah’s has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 40 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America’s largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries. The huge Aston Park tennis center is built into a large hill a minute from downtown Asheville.
Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining Lake Lure and much more in the surrounding areas. 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood)
