Beautiful antique gem- The oldest house in Litchfield CT

The property -- home and surrounding gardens -- was just beautiful. The well-established gardens were abundant and well-cared for. The patio was lovely; the outdoor table, with a sun umbrella, seats 6; we discovered it also worked very well in the rain. The house itself was clean, spacious, and overflowing with character (exposed beams, original hearths, lovely wood floors, etc.). We arrived during a hot spell, and the AC (mini-splits downstairs, window units upstairs) worked well given the limitations of retrofitting an old house. On the downside, the kitchen was small, with very little counter space, although it did have a large oven, dishwasher, and fridge. It was, surprisingly, not very well stocked with utensils (e.g. only 7 forks, no bread knife, pans with no tops) or plates (e.g. 10 dinner plates, but no small plates). This would be fine for guests who don't plan to do much cooking; it presented a challenge for us. Overall, however, for special occasions, it is a lovely spot. The location is excellent; we were able to cross the street and explore part of the White Memorial Forest. Nerice, the host, was accommodating and easy to work with.

Beautiful home, comfortable and had a great fire pitt. I would definitely rent again.

Really well appointed house, lots of charm, perfect for our family. Walk to lots of trails and breakfast spots.

Easy check in & check out process. Great location for 5 old HS friends to explore local breweries & disc golf courses. Thank you to the host for the great communication.
