The Looking Glass: A Pair of Mirrored Treehouses

Welcome to The Looking Glass Treehouse!  This dual treehouse is perched atop a Tulip Poplar and Pignut Hickory trees.  The façade of mirrors reflects the surrounding forest back to you, creating a shimmering atmosphere of strong trunks and vibrant leaves.  The Looking Glass Treehouse is truly a masterful creation that is a product of extraordinary craftsmanship and imaginative design, we welcome you to relax, renew and spend time up in the canopy here!  (When you rent Looking Glass, you are renting both of the treehouse rooms--the lower is the kitchen, the upper is the bedroom).

Upon arrival, notice the complete bathhouse and staircase leading up to the kitchen.  As you walk across the bridge and find yourself in the kitchen, you will be surrounded by a 360 view looking out into nature through the panoramic windows.  Find all you will need to create a feast in this circular kitchen.  How does the flow of cooking compare to a square?  From the kitchen, exit across the second bridge and relax outside on the fully suspended deck.  You can enjoy your morning coffee here, rain or shine, because it is protected from the elements by the bedroom above.  When the sun sets and the whippoorwills come out to sing, you can climb upward from the deck, and enter the bedroom through a hatch in the floor.  This cozy, octagonal bedroom, is a place to lounge or sleep outfitted with giant floor pillows, two full sized beds and one twin-sized fold out sleeper sofa.

In the very closest of the winter months (mid-January to March 1st), the kitchen plumbing may be winterized, during the rest of the year the kitchen sink has cold water (not hot).  The kitchen also has a 1/2 size fridge (no freezer).   If the kitchen is winterized, we will provide 5 gallon jugs of potable water on a dispenser at the kitchen sink for your use.

We are happy to host pets at Looking Glass Treehouse and ask for an additional $75 (plus tax) non-refundable pet cleaning fee for the first pet.  Any additional pets are $37.50 (plus tax).  Pets are welcome to stay in all of the treehouses- but we do not recommend they go up the ladder to the sleeping loft for their safety.

Linens are always provided for this cabin.  We will provide pillows, blankets, bedsheets and bath towels.  We will also provide kitchen towels, toilet paper, hand and dish soap.

Firewood is also available upon request.  For $25 we will deliver firewood to your fire pit.  Please be sure to mark on your reservation if you would like firewood delivery.  Please be sure to put out all fires COMPLETELY when you are finished.

Please note that this treehouse is on a 3/4 mile, bumpy, sometimes muddy, gravel road.  Some two-wheeled vehicles can make it to the cabin, but four wheel drives have a much easier time.  For this reason we highly recommend a 4 or all wheel drive vehicle!
